Was on teh Blacklist I think in 2012. It's being directed by James Ponsoldt who directed Smashed and the upcoming Spectacular Now.

Right now here are the alleged frontrunners to play Hillary
Chastain, Johansson, Witherspoon, and Seyfried Eyed to Play Young Hillary Clinton in RODHAM

Last month, we reported that The Spectacular Now director James Ponsoldt would helm Rodham. Per the synopsis, “During the height of the Watergate scandal, rising star Hillary Rodham is the youngest lawyer chosen for the House Judiciary Committee to Impeach Nixon, but she soon finds herself forced to choose between a destined path to the White House and her unresolved feelings for Bill Clinton, her former boyfriend who now teaches law in Arkansas.” Since playing a famous person in a drama is a prime recipe for netting an Oscar, it’s a role that’s ripe to net an A-list actress.

Today, The Independent reports that Jessica Chastain, Scarlett Johansson, Reese Witherspoon, and Amanda Seyfriend have emerged as “frontrunners” to play the title role. I put “frontrunners” in quotations because these actresses are probably high on every list for most projects. Ponsoldt commented, “They’re all wonderful actresses. We’re very fortunate that a lot of really great actors are interested in playing these roles. We’re in an enviable position.” Of course, once the role of Rodham has been cast, we can rev up the speculation machine on who will play a young Bill Clinton.

I think all of them would be good. I think Seyfried looks the most like a 27 year old Hillary, but I think Witherspoon would be the best choice. CHastain is great but I think Witherspoon might be a better choice for this. Im kind of surprised Jennifer Lawrence isnt on this short list if it's true

Witherspoon is definitely who I'd choose, and I'm not even a fan of hers.

If any of them get the part, they're going to have to ugly themselves up like Charlize Theron did in that one film.

I just don't see what's good or great about Hilary that she deserves a film about her.

Bunch of political BS to hype her up if she really does decide to run for President.

I guarantee whoever plays her will at least be nominated for Best Actress. The Academy will eat this up.

I could see all of them doing well. Though Scarlett would be the weakest on that list.

I hope there's nudity.

Regarding looks, Witherspoon and Seyfried would be a lock. Though I'd probably go for Chastain if I had to make a final decision.

Whichever of these women gets the role, I bet Bill will offer to play himself.

The looks I'm not worried about. I'd say Witherspoon or Seyfried because their facial structure are more similar. But like any actor playing a historical figure, it doesn't matter how close it is, it still won't match. So focus more on the make up, hair, wardrobe and performance the actor must exude to portray the person. And Chastain is certainly capable of doing such a thing, not because we've seen it yet, but because of her acting prowess that we've come to see.

Right. Give it to the person who thinks she is above the law. She is way too old for this.

I'd personally give it to Seyfried. She's old enough, has a nice enough resemblance, and hasn't done something so big before. But the question is, can she pull it off? Then again, these are the years of Clinton we're not as familiar with seeing so maybe she can fit with this vision and time they're going with.

Witherspoon is the probably the closest.

I say go for an unknown. But of those four, Reese seems appropriate considering her recent arrested, that awesome police video and the general consensus that she's a pain in the ass to deal with.

Casting aside, I don't understand why this movie would exist? What story is being told?

I think it revolves around HIlary Clinton and her being one of the youngest lawyers involved in the Watergate scandal. And apparently she was fired for unethical behavior. And as the Collider article states there will also be some stuff about her relationship with young Bill Clinton.

So I think there is some story there

They want another DDL Lincoln type deal, that's why. They rarely get unknowns to play popular figures in history unless they surround them with like an insanely stellar cast.

I hope they show how Hillary was on the board of Wal-Mart.

the third act is the Monica Lewinsky scandal ;)

None of these women are good for the role, in my opinion. :csad:

Though based on looks, Scarlett is a lock. Her eyes are eerily uncanny. Throw some glasses on her and it's almost remarkable.
