Roger Rabbit Sequel

PIKACHU!!!

...this whole project can go straight to hell, and take Zemeckis' beloved mo-cap with it.

I foresee a bombardment of Dora the Explorer and Spongebob Squarepants.

That would be awesome. Ren and Stimpy, Beavis and Butthead, King of the Hill, The Angry Beavers, South Park, The Simpsons.....

Seriously, cartoon cameo's could actually be more relivent today.

how strange...surreal disturbing is this photo?
yet i'm fascinated by it!

Roger worked for a porn company in the book or something along those lines...anyone read it??!

I wonder if they'll try to get Bob Hoskins back?

I really don't care for this idea though.

As Nivek said, it sounds 20 years too late.

Could be good.... but I agree, it's a bit late. However, as long as he doesnt go all CG with it, I might enjoy it alot.

the movie was supposed to come out in 2002.....

Roger vs the natzis trying to find his mother meeting his future wife along the way was canned....they filmed test footage in 1998 and wanted to combine animation and CGI but the budget was expected to be 100 million so it was canned.

and now we here this ****

Chances are if they were to make a sequel it wouldn't take place now.

Eh, I kinda want to see this.

The cartoon cameos should be interesting.

Certainly, and if they are indeed going to touch on the 2D/3D debate, I foresee PIXAR showing up all over the place. At the very least, Woody, Buzz and WALL-E.

Why is everyone assuming this Roger Rabbit will take place in the present day? Wasn't the original set in the 1940's? So wouldn't they have cartoon characters from that era.

I love Roger Rabbit, but, for the Sequel? No thanks.

Oh, that's right. :csad:

This project could have potential but as far as I am concerned no villain can beat The Judge. He was creepy as all hell. He scared the **** outta me when I was little and OMG when he melted :wow:

If he does this, every fanboy will forgive him instantly for his motion capture phase. But I get that he's doing these flicks so they can perfect the tools.

As much as I love Roger Rabbit, I have no interest in a sequel. At this point, I feel it would be a sequel for sequel's sake. Indiana Jones 4 was hella lame.

Also it would cost a freaking fortune. Roger Rabbit was made in 1988-1987 ish and it cost I think about $70 million. Think about that, $70 million in the 80's. That would probably be triple today for a sequel.

well if this does happen i am curious to see how it would turn out.

I'll be interested if I hear that Richard Williams will be returning.

This better not be one of those ugly PS2 quality motion capture films or I will be really pissed!!!!

Could they even have all of the cameos from other cartoon characters in the movie these days? The first movie showed the only time you ever saw Mickey Mouse and Bugs Bunny together.

If it's a joint project between Disney and Warner Bros. it can certainly work since they pretty much own all the iconic cartoon characters nowadays with the classic Disney characters, Looney Tunes, Hanna-Barbera, Pixar along with multiple cartoon shows that they've both produced over their long history.

Really the only icons that aren't owned by those two are Woody Woodpecker and Fievel (Universal), Betty Boop (Paramount), Mighty Mouse (20th Century Fox), and Nickelodeon's Nicktoons characters (Spongebob, Ren & Stimpy, Rugrats, Hey Arnold, Invader ZIM). And you know what, asides from a few like Spongebob and Woody Woodpecker, they're really not needed.

Matt Groening, Seth McFarlane, and Mike Judges' creations along with South Park should be nowhere near a Roger Rabbit movie. Those are adult oriented cartoons unlike the cartoon characters that people of all ages can know and love like Mickey and Bugs.
