Well two years later, and still no talk of a sequel. I really am happy to see it put to rest.
Some movies just don't need a sequel. Roger Rabbit is one of them.
Exactly. I watched the original the other night and had forgotten how sexualized Jessica was in her first scene. Wouldn’t happen today. With modern technology R. Rabbit sequel would look insane. Unfortunately, it will be completely sanitized if made.
author Gary K. Wolf revealed that he quietly reacquired the rights to Roger Rabbit last year. “I now have back the rights to all my characters, all my books. I can, basically, do my own Roger Rabbit projects,”
Apparently they can now do that.I'd rather he make an adaptation of the original book "Who Censord Roger Rabbit?"
It's much more dirty and adult.
He should go to other studious, and see if they want to develop it from scratch, closer to his novels.“I’d love for Disney to participate in this. We could partner up on this. There’s a core group of people who were involved with the first movie, and I would love to work with those people again. Steven Spielberg, Robert Zemeckis, Frank Marshall, Kathleen Kennedy. I’d love to have Charles Fleischer come back and voice the rabbit again,” he stated.
