Ronald Reagan's story coming to the screen

I hope it's directed by Oliver Stone.

Why do people treat Reagan like he was God?

ronald regan...the actor?!?! what next, a film about jerry lewis?

Break out the Jelly Beans!

So would the part of Reagan be played by Rich Little?

Jim Carrey can play a decent Ronald Reagan. He did so in a Funny or Die video.

Movie should be great. Jim Carrey as Reagan? Would people take it seriously considering Carrey made a career doing comedy films.

i don't treat him as such (though I do think he was one of the better presidents), but current historians claim that history has vindicated him. He was the most influential president since Franklin; advocated lower taxes; helped bring about a PEACEFUL END to the Cold War; brought back dignity and faith back to the presidency; had strong support for Israel; appointed the first female Supreme Court Justice; hell the guy even had DEMOCRATS on his side (the "reagan democrats").

but in the same vein, a lot of people still vilify him...

Reagan was a very moderate conservative, that's why he gets respect from both ends of the spectrum usually. He wasn't real hawkish about **** and didn't come off like a jerk.

Dennis Quaid would be a good Reagan.

Except in some cases people feel that he helped make the rich richer and the poor poorer.

A moderate conservative? Pretty sure that's an oxymoron. Reagan was the most right wing president we've ever had. The left despised him and all he stood for.

Oh geez. Let the republican defication begin. I can see Fox News now...

People can like who they like but he wasn't a moderate.

Regardless of the politics, there's an awful lot of material to mine for a really good story. The man led a very full life.

I don't know, last time I checked I would mainly see people talking trash about him. Especially in regards to cencorship of music and movies even though that was more of his wife's thing.

idk, i really don't. i always pictured him as the epitome of american arrogance personlly, i guess it's a republican thing.

What? How?!?

I wanna see Reagan's puppet from World of Confusion fight Kim Jong Il from Team America.

HAHAHA. I would LOVE to know your reasons why.

Apparently you've never heard the term "Reagan Democrat".

even with his mess with South America in mind, there's a whole lot of misinformation and ignorance going on about this guy in this thread. I suggest doing some actual reading up on his presidency, and not just listening to the guy on partisan tv telling you how you should feel about the president.

and for the record, no, I am not a republican.

Oh, god, that music video TERRIFIED ME as a kid.
