he won't play a clone, it will be the real lex. i just hope we see him before the series 2hr finale. they need to rebuild where he has been and such. maybe he will kill lionel and the lex clone?

I am sure they will have plently of time and planning to have clark become superman, darkseid fight, and michael as lex again. They have the time to get it all right. As for story from ew. I think they had deal in place and this week where hammering out final details. And they(sv producers) probably leaked the ew story in the event things didn't go down well with michael so they ahad a prepared excuse to I've. But then details got hammered out and they saw all the negative outcry from ew story so they let the cat out of the bag. Now I am really curious to see what they do with michael and lex as the character. Will he be aged clone, will clone be a conner kent deal, was lex never really dead all this time. So many questions.

It's been a while since I posted on here but after seeing this news I couldn't resist! This is the best news I've read in a long time. I just hope that he's real Lex and not clone Lex. I've always thought that the Lex killed by Green Arrow was a clone and the real Lex has been in hiding. I just hope I've been right. Smallville can now end the way it deserves to!

It is like a rainstorm of great news regarding Superman.

- Smallville gets to finish on it's own terms.
- It looks like we are gonna see Clark in a Superman suit (hopefully they alter that SR suit a little)
- Henry Cavill is the new big screen Superman.
- We will have a new Superman movie by December 2012 that isn't connected to SR.
- Michael Rosenbaum is returning for Smallville's big 2 hour finale.

It's your opinion and I do respect that,But you think Lex coming back is"meh"?????,IF you don't like the actor then that's fine But you really don't think that the Lex character needs to be in the finale and to hint at him being a main villain for Superman in the future??

After all the build up from S1 to his death and just the way Lex is pretty needed in the comics&Superman mythology in general!?!?,Lex is THE villain of the story.

IF Lex don't come back to life somehow or even a clone is not there at the end with Superman and hints at them being rivals to there real end in life.....That would not be justice and not even"meh"!

I agree that they have plenty of time to work out the series finale, but I hope it's Clark-centric because the event has to be Clark flying and wearing the suit. I want to see a battle between he and Lex that's like Superman/ Batman: Public Enemies. It's possible that Lex may have been abducted to Apokolips when the Fortress crumbled back in the 7th season.

I'm not a big Smallville fan, I've only seen a handful of older episodes, Absolute Justice, and the Deadshot episode. But Lex coming back has made it a definite that my butt'll be in front of that TV come finale time.

That's the exact way that I pictured the real Lex returning. But it would be weird now since it doesn't look like the clone can be killed by a regular bullet.

Honestly, it wouldnt have felt like a proper ending for me if Michael hadny shown up. I miss Lex like crazy; i always enjoyed his portrayal of the character, especially when he got dark.

I am sure it will be a clark focus. Its the finale and whole this is about clark journy to becoming superman. Lex with michael back is something I can't wait for. Like others there is so many things they can do with him. He could be the clone which ages to proper age and this let's michael keep hair and just dye it. Another is they can keep clone as is and he becomes a sv take on conner kent and could be an ally or a villain which ever they choose. Second could be michael is the real lex and he was never dead. Just was in hiding after the fos ordeal. And it was a a first/early clone attempt that blew up in season 8. And then lex saw it wasn't right time yet. So he been waiting for right moment to come along. So then he comes back to the world and reveals he was never dead and so on and all. Then the other question will be will he shave head, will he wear a bald cap/makeup.
