Run All Night (Liam Neeson)

Yeah, The Grey is probably the best film he's done since Schindler's List.

I love Liam Nesson and enjoyed Taken but ever since then I have been avoiding his films becuase they all seem to be the same type of role. Although A Walk Among the Tombstones and The Grey seemed good, I never got around to ever watching them.

Love me dat Qui-Gon/Aslan/Ra's Al Ghul though.

Agreed. The first Taken was awesome seeing Neeson lay the smackdown, but it's gotten old at this point when it seems the only character he ever plays anymore.

@Doc Ock, The Grey and Walk Among The Tombstones are nothing like Taken. One is a survival movie, bleak and harsh without heroics. the latter is like a 70's cop thriller, it is more about the method of investigation and solving the puzzle than it is about action as there are only a couple of brief shootouts and one fight.

Looks good to me, Liam is like Denzel, he takes a lot of similar roles but I like those roles and these type of movies, so they'll always interest me, and then you add in Joel Kinnaman as his son and you got me.

The film is tried and tested stuff in this genre for sure, but the key is in the execution, and to me this looks well executed just like Jaume Collet-Serra executed the premise of Non-stop so well IMO.

Alt title, Taken pt. 7.

Liam's entering Charles Bronson levels of action movie making.

how about a gif of that bad ass final shot of him cocking that lever action shot gun please

This looks like another Taken style role for Neeson. I like the guy but his tough guy/ bad ass stick is getting kinda old now. I want to see him branch out and do different roles. BTW The Grey was one of the most depressing movies I EVER seen it my life. I never want to see that again.

All the negative nancies in this thread need a good old Neeson throat punch. All the Takens and Non Stops opened up more chances for stuff like The Grey and Tombstones. Hell he's in a Scorcese historical drama next. He's not resting on his laurels as much as you guys seem to think he is.

The Grey was one of the most confronting films I've ever seen and probably the best performance I've seen from Neeson in years.

Poster released. :awesome:

It kinda sucks for Neeson that everyone, including movie marketers, are just associating all this movies with Taken. The Grey, Non Stop, A Walk Among the Tombstones; and what it seems like, Run All Night aren't just Taken with a different paint job as people assume/say.

It really marginalizes the work that Neeson is doing. While their not the greatest movie ever theyre better than their given credit for. Especially The Grey

It really is a shame, because walk among the tombstones was great.

Liam Neeson Quitting Action Movies in Two Years
During our interview with the actor, he told us “Maybe two more years. If God spares me and I’m healthy. But after that, I’ll stop [the action] I think.” He went on to recognize how action movies had boosted is career, adding “The success of certainly the Taken films, Hollywood seems to see me in a different light. I get sent quite a few action-oriented scripts, which is great. I’m not knocking it. It’s very flattering. But there is a limit, of course.”

We'll see. I hope Silence sends him into more dramatic fare

I watched this just now. It was a damn good action/mob movie. The performances were on point as was the action. Lastly, Liam Neeson was definitely not sleepwalking through this. He was excellent and badass.

8/10

Yeah it was a decent movie, him and Ed Harris on screen was cool. His performance in this slightly better than Taken 3.

Anything was better than Taken 3. :barf:

Saw this over the weekend and really enjoyed it. Neeson, Harris and Kinnaman were all really great. Also, I've never seen the actor who played Harris' son before but he was a perfect a**hole. My only real complaint is that I didn't like all of those silly CGI panning shots of New York. That really got annoying.
