Liam Neeson to Topline 'Orphan' Director's 'Unknown White Male'

After the success of Dark Castle's Orphan, Joe Silver's company is moving fast on the previously announced Unknown White Male. Reteaming Dark Castle with director Jaume Collet-Serra (who got behind the camera Orphan and House of Wax for Joel Silver's company), Liam Neeson is negotiating to star in the production slated to begin in January. Neeson will play a doctor who goes to Berlin for a medical conference and gets into a car accident. When he awakens from a coma, he discovers that his wife doesn't recognize him -- and she's living with another man who has assumed his identity.

I liked Orphan and House of Wax. So i'm up to see what he can do thats not horror.

I was just reading a article in Fangoria and they mentioned this movie as his next gig.

they need to change the title.. its awful

I''m sure they prolly will. it's just a working title for now.

I was thinking it was somehow related to that movie Single White Female

I looked at the title and thought "No ****, JAL."

I like the sound of this and Neeson is always value.

Sounds like The Sixth Sense 2 or something. Can't go wrong with Neeson though.

Sounds like a ripoff of the movie Shattered with Tom Berenger and Bob Hoskins. If you haven't seen that one check it out.

the movie sounds awesome and Neeson in it will make it even more awesome. though I thought he would take some time off from making movies considering his wife died a few months ago...

Liam is badass and its worth enough to check out. Ill wait for a trailer to get excited.

When's Neeson gonna play Known Sixteenth President, dammit?!

I'm shocked this is not a remake of anything.

I thought the same thing. Not a very popular movie, so it slips past from people.

Principal Photography Starts for Unknown White Male

Principal photography is underway on the thriller Unknown White Male under the direction of Jaume Collet-Serra (Orphan). The film stars Liam Neeson (Schindler's List, upcoming Clash of the Titans), Diane Kruger (Inglorious Basterds), January Jones (TV's "Mad Men"), Aidan Quinn (TV's "The Book of Daniel"), Bruno Ganz (The Reader) and Frank Langella (Frost/Nixon).

The film is being produced by Joel Silver, under his Dark Castle Entertainment banner; Leonard Goldberg; and Dark Castle's Andrew Rona.

Steve Richards, Sarah Meyer and Peter McAleese are serving as the film's executive producers, with Charlie Woebcken, Christoph Fisser and Henning Molfenter co-producing. The screenplay is by Oliver Butcher & Stephen Cornwell and Karl Gajdusek, based on the novel "Out of My Head" by Didier van Cauwelaert.

Liam Neeson stars as Dr. Martin Harris, who awakens after a car accident in Berlin to discover that his wife (January Jones) suddenly doesn't recognize him and another man (Aidan Quinn) has assumed his identity.

Ignored by disbelieving authorities and hunted by mysterious assassins, he finds himself alone, tired, and on the run. Aided by an unlikely ally (Diane Kruger), Martin plunges headlong into a deadly mystery that will force him to question his sanity, his identity, and just how far he's willing to go to uncover the truth.

Unknown White Male is being shot entirely on location in Germany, with some filming being accomplished at Studio Babelsberg, the oldest large-scale studio complex in the world. Studio Babelsberg is also a co-producer on the film, under an agreement with Silver's Dark Castle Entertainment.

Unknown White Male will be distributed by Warner Bros. Pictures.

There's a trailer now

http://www.comingsoon.net/news/movienews.php?id=71006

So after seeing the end of that trailer where he says "I haven't forgotten everything" (which is awesome) and starts whopping ass, I'm thinking that he was...

actually some kind of undercover agent who forgot he was undercover due to the accident and began to think he was a real doctor

I'm looking forward to this one now.

Good to see Bryan Mills making his return there at the end.
