Running Time Now Official

But from my understanding, the script was already supposed to be more fast-paced, even before Ratner was brought on...

Unless I've been mistaken..

Hmm... I didn't know that.

Red, I can tell you've already made up your mind, so I'm not going to try and debate you on this..

For THIS movie, there just isn't enough evidence...Those two movies, BTW, are in the minority...

Hmmm who set the release date and tight schedule for this film TNC?? Hmmm. I like you man but if your actually defending Fox and telling me they have no say on the final running time...:down

Why would they show a 2 hour cut at the premiere though? It doesn't make sense.
They can't send a movie to theaters without passing it by the film classifcation boards. If the movie is 10 minutes longer then that needs to go by them too.

I won't be surprised if we get some kind of alternative cut on dvd.

Disappointing aint it?

There is a way for fox to be completely clean of culprit and still have a rapid cut film: all you have to do is get a director that agrees with the pacing of the film. it doesnt have to be seeking them out specifically but if they like what the director says they hire him imo.

And how do you make sure youre not accused of editing a film to death? Measure ahead of time while writing the film. Same thing happened with t3... "theres no batch of secret deleted scenes... thats all we filmed"

I am not saying that Fox did it against Ratners wishes. I am not saying Fox edited to death but it also seems they didn't plan on a 2+ hour movie in the first place. And I find it hard to believe that only 30 SECONDS was cut.

Well theres ways to dodge that notion is what im saying.. indirectly they may nudge it along but ultimately it would be the directors choice. Its possible.

In the end FOX is the one that okays everything :o

Tell that to Tim Story and Mark Johnson. :o

Yes but i would think if you dont want folks complaining about them seeking out short films, you simply take a director that is "talented" and they may know he likes short films, but really, they sought out what they thought was a talented director and secondly likes short films? a plus, and then you get a short film again. Gray stuff like that does occur... so i wouldnt accuse fox of short films necessarily... theres plenty of directors now who think shorter films are godly apparently and they may be simply grinning at coincidences since its what mainstream likes now.

This is the final running time :)

Bad news is , they've cut 15 minutes from it ( all redundant dialogue and scenes which "slowed down" the movie ) :( The screening I attended ran a little below 2 hours... which is a shame. Dunno what has been cut though.

.. and ill say if fox is simply caught in the midle of the new trends directors seem to be having of shorter films, its still a sign theyre losing a certain base and perhaps they should try a new game plan if they see it falling the same way.

Yes it is. And those who don't think FOX don't have influence should look at Elektra, AvP, Fantastic Four, Daredevil. Off of them got director's cuts.

True that .. but the most remarkable cut is this

"... off all scenes that were supposed to be in the movie I find the small and brief battle between Juggernaut and Colossus the ONE scene that should've stayed in"

Too bad ... I liked that small scene between those two. I dont know if people saw the clips but here's how the scene went down :

Juggernaut runs down the ramp after Magneto orders him to get the boy. He runs through the Soldiers but finds Colossus in his way. They both are in a standstill and lock there arms together. After a short amount of time Juggernaut breaks free, grabs a car and smacks Colossus around the globe. Beast then tells Kitty : "Go get the boy!" which Kitty replies : "Already on it!" Juggernaut then proceeds as in the clip , jumping on the Humvee and crashes into the building. Kitty gets in the building before Juggernaut does but Juggernaut quickly gains a head-start.

Actually Beast says

"Hes going after the boy"

Kitty replies with

"Not if I get there first"

There has been alot of movies under two hours.. I'm happy with the runnig time.

Interesting. Im sure more and more folks will be able to use this now that the trends are changing... i think short films like this will be commonplace soon for these types of films. Oh well.

But it seems like so much stuff we know about & seen are getting left out of the Movie & the Movie will in the end suffer. This is what happens when FOX shows to much

this running time sucks arse

u have to exclude probably 5 minutes for end titles
