Running Time?

I think the term 'Bare Bones' is a little harsh, but I believe that to tell the story the way it was told in comics (Even Minus the Black Freighter) as it should be told.....I think even three hours is not enough.

I think this should be done over some Mega Budget one season TV Series personally.

3 hours of Watchmen would be, like, 50 times more tolerable than any given LOTR movie.

budget will be around 150 milion so the running time won´t be over 150 minute...

if the pacing is right, a 3 hour film wont feel like it is.

my worry is that there is so much stuff in Watchmen that 3 hrs wont be enough, and i couldnt imagine them cutting down on the history of other characters because the rest of the story wont make sense.

People, the scripts don't point to a three hour movie. I seriously doubt that's going to happen.

Snyder is pushing for a very long movie. He's already pushed for an '80's setting, an R-rating, and "No Big Names". He's gotten all of those things so why is it so unlikely that he'll get the running time he wants?

If you mean that the studio doesn't think a 3 hour movie will make any money, well I don't think a long running time necessarily equals less money at the box office. This movie will make money based on how well its marketed IMO.

150-190 minute theatrical, 200 minute+ directors cut.

I could easily sit through 4 or 5 hours of it, but...thats never gonna be made.

2 hours 40 minutes or 3 hours 10 minutes, but only if it never lags or feels slow. if not, maybe 2 hours 20 minutes

What they should do (or should think about doing) is do it Kill Bill style. 2 parts 6 months apart.

Lord Of The Rings is the exact way Watchmen should be handled when it comes to film length.

3 hour movie in the theater and an Extended DVD that brings the film to 4 hours.

It's only one movie and thats it so I think Snyder could convince the studio to pay for 4 hours of movie time.

It would make the movie more true to the work and more of a great film.

Quality is worth the money put in and the lenth of the film.

If he can get the script he wants then he can get it to be as long as he wants.

Let's pretend for a moment that I've written two WATCHMEN scripts, and read about four others, not including Tse, Hayter and Hamm's various drafts.

I'm aware of the other scripts, but I don't remember or never saw your Watchmen scripts. Perhaps you can post them, kinda put your money where you mouth is? :oldrazz:

Have any of you ever seen a "bare bones" action movie that was 2.5 hours long? I don't think I have.

Batman Begins. There, I win. :o

F**k Lord of the Rings, it was boring trash. If anything, it should be like Apocolypse Now--a brilliant, trippy movie about absurdity and morality with incredible actors who take the work seriously, without the 17 year period between releasing the whole thing.

it should definetly be like 2 days long
i would easily sit through 2 days of watchmen, ofcourse id be "servicing" myself throughout most of it
