Spider-Man 3 Running Time

Discussion in 'Raimi's Spider-Man' started by bushgeneration, May 10, 2006.

  1. Hey, would it be acceptable if the new Spidey movie's time length be 1 hour and 33 minutes? I mean if they don't cut the love story between Pete and MJ the movie will be over 2 hours!

I would be seriously disappointed if the movie was that short, there is ALOT of ground to cover in this one.

I predict it will be between 2hours 10 minutes to 2 and a half hours. although I wish it would be like 3 hours because I think it's necessary for everything that's happening. I just don't know if they have the financing to produce a 3 hour movie. I hope they do. We know their budget is over 250 million, but that doesn't really tell us much, since all we know is Sandman and Venom are going to be expensive.

I think whatever time it takes to encompass everything and introduce the new characters properly is the best running time :)

I think that's exactly the right running time, its what BB lasted and it covered quite a bit,but maybe if venom is really on this movie then I say two and a half hours(including credits) would be right.

I think it won't be under two hours, because there are 2 villans(3?). They've got a big budget, they don't have to hurry at all...

I Could Sit Through A 3-4 Hr Spidey Movie!

  19. I don't give a crap about the running time as long as the story gets enough time to be told without feeling rushed.

I don't expect to be out of the midnight showing until somewhere between 2:30 and 3:00 am.

    Agreed.
Plus, what I've always noticed about the two films is the fantastic pacing. The stories are excellently developed and spread out, so that when I left the theatre, I'd always think, "What? Over already?" Then I would look at my watch and discover  "Oh crap! 2 hours have gone by!"

I can sit for up to four hours easy. Though, I doubt that'll ever really happen. ...Maybe some research could be done as to how Bollywood directors do it. Just don't turn Spidey into a musical.

So as for now, this is a sci fi movie basically, it has a developed fan base as well (bigger than LOTR?), people will sit through a 3hr movie easy. Considering the story and who's involved, and how long it'll take to develop all these characters, this is needed.

yeah that's true. I remember the first time I saw spider-man 2, I thought man that seemed kind of short but awesome. It really wasn't a short movie either.
