Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

^ Yeah but most of those don't make any money with a few exceptions and much higher budgets. Look at some of the big dissapointments this year like Grindhouse, and while I loved Spider-Man 3 and Spidey 3 is going to make the most for the franchise Worldwide...it's gonna make about 70 million less than the first Spidey film with higher ticket prices domestic. People's #1 complaint...the runtime. You not only have to balance the appeal but think of the money as well...that's why they're in the business.

AD, the runtime with S3 was not the problem, it actually needed another half hour.

The story was underdeveloped there was just too much going on with not enough time to take it all in.

In that whole film only Harry's arc resonated and felt complete to me. Everything else was like 123 and they are done. However I enjoyed it and loved the runtime.

It is the blockbuster of the summer. Pirates in the running, Shrek took a hit. Shrek is for the Kids, FF is supposed to be for everyone, as Johnny would say, comeon.

What is wrong with Fox, are they blind?

Man I gotta go do stuff. I don't know why I expected so much.

Hmmf I am heading off to forget about it.

^ Yeah but have you seen that 20 minutes and does it make the movie better? 20 minutes is a good chunk but that is NOT average and you know that.

Sure it's not the average but the films that have had 10-20 minutes added back into them have turned out to be better films. Daredevil (A Fox Film!), Kingdom of Heaven (A Fox Film!), F4 (which will most likely end up being better with the added footage, A Fox Film), then you have the non fox films like the LOTR films, Chronicles of Riddick, etc.

I see my thread title has been altered.......for the worse:csad: *sigh* no surprises really, thanks Fox,you're always reliable,Whizz bang wollop here we come again

Don't worry, even if the movie bombs (and it won't) your Marvel shares won't lose too much in value.
So you can quit this pathetic preventive defense.

No need to throw insults. That is pathetic. You clearly know nothing about how Marvel makes money or what causes it's stock to rise...otherwise you wouldn't have said something so stupid. Do some research on Marvels deal with Fox on Fantastic Four and grow up. I love how a few of you try to throw that in my face everytime I defend or say I enjoyed a Marvel film. I've clearly stated my opinion of every Marvel film and they're not all good and I enjoy all comic films including Supes, Batman, Hellboy, etc...Nice try though. At least my statements are a "wait and see" mentality instead of screaming at the wind about doom and gloom over a movies runtime. LMFAO

BTW I have money invested directly or indirectly in almost every worthwile studio out there.

And in a years time...Another extended version out on DVD for those daft enough to pay for it....Sorry for being so cynical, but after X-Men 1.5, Directors cut of Daredevil, alternative DVD versions of X3, now an extended version of FF1...Imo, it's naive not to see what Fox's game is here, and more fool those who fall for it.
If fanboys stopped buying their .5 versions they would probably stop making them.
Instead here everyone is drooling while waiting the release of Fantastic 4.5.

The runtime of Spidey 3 was too short? That's a typo right? I'm a fan and 92 minutes doesn't insult me. I enjoy plenty of movies that are an hour and a half and enjoy those that are longer.

Yes, SM3 was too short, it could have been longer. Now, I enjoy short films too, but the short films I enjoy usually have a story that isn't as big as what F4-2 looks to have. Your talking about Silver Surfer, Galactus, Doom, plus the F4 themselves. I mean, come on. Essentially they are cramming all of that in a span of 82-85 minutes.

I haven't seen the FF's cut footage but I have seen the Directors cut of Daredevil and the extended version (about 30 minutes more there) made for a much better movie.

I disagree. Spidey 3 wasn't too short. The movie was too long and that's what the complaint was pretty much across the board. The problem was they should have not introduced Venom in this film. Just Spider-Man's battle and dealings with the suit would have been enough along with the Goblin and Sandman story. Then at the end of the film they should have shown that church scene with the symbiote dropping off onto Brock. The final scene should have been his transformation into Venom...end credits.

That though would be difficult because Tobey's contract was up and it would suck to continue that storyline with a new actor with a cliffhanger like that. They should have filmed 3 & 4 together.

That's odd considering everyone I know has mentioned that they tried to cram too much into the movie and that it should have been longer.

Either way, F4-2 should have had a runtime in the 110-120 range. It wouldn't have taken anything away box office wise and would probably end up making more as I bet a little breathing room would garner better reviews. We'll see how it ends up, but with this short runtime I'm not expecting critical praise.

Or they should have cut some stuff out, like one of the dancing numbers, the useless amnesia subplot, one of those terrible dialogues between MJ and Peter or Venom.

What's the budget on this movie?

Because I think the first film's final fight with Dr. Doom (among other things) might have been the result of the size of their filming or special effects budget which also impacted the running time.

I'm not certain but I think the budget is 130-150 mil.

The movie's doomed. I won't pay to see it.

That's surprisingly decent for a FF film.

You can kind of see that in the trailers but I then I'm still puzzled that with that budget why the movie couldn't have extended action pieces or even added character time that shouldn't require that much budget unless there's some sort of film shortage.

So ok, here's what we know:

- The wedding.

- Thing meeting with Dr. Doom at some point.

- The Silver Surfer landing.

- The Silver Surfer vs Johnny Storm chase.

- FF and the US military coming together to determine what SS means.

- The Silver Surfer meeting the FF and the fight between SS and the military in the forest.

- Most likely the Fantasticar scene follows the previous.

- Silver Surfer meeting Dr. Doom and the possible power drain sequence.

- The final set piece seems to be the China one where they all swap powers and defeat either Dr. Doom or the Surfer.

- There's a possibility that Galactus is shown at the end which will segway into a 3rd movie.

It's very tight.

WTF happened to 106??

My hopes just died.

I'm not going to speculate anymore on what the runtime will or will not allow....I'll wait for the movie....

It's 20 minutes shorter than the first movie, and even the first movie had 20 minutes cut. That's 40 freakin' minutes of a difference!

I'll hold judgment. But if this is true, I will not see this film.

Fox has a sick pleasure in treating fans like garbage. They burned us way too many times in the past, and I refuse to let that happen to me again.

X2 was great because Singer wasn't gonna take **** from no one. Story needs to do something about this.

I'm infuriated beyond belief, and FF isn't even my favorite comic.

I think this is one time downloading the movie is for a good cause. To give a giant middle finger to Fox

Isn't the thread titled "Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!"?

Some of you guys are just as blind as the Dark Knight fans on the Joker pic.
