Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

That's what i think too. My point was more that those examples show that a good quality movie can be 92 minutes long.(Just trying to add a little positivity to thread:o )

Here are a couple action movies that were the same length as FF2 - Jurrasic Park 3, The Scorpion King, The Transporter .

The running times for those films fit perfectly. Jurassic Park III's story was so freaking simple that a 2 hour running time would have been over the top.

FF2 on the other hand has a big story that's being crammed into a tight running time. 92 minutes is too short, I'm sorry and in the end I have feeling it's going to be a fun but extremely rushed film. No wonder why Doom hasn't appeared much or at all in the Trailers and TV spots, he probably has little to no screentime in the film. Sigh.

How did LS and I see them in TV spots if they weren't filmed.....lol:cwink:

You missed this post...
Oh my bad, didn't check the whole thread.:o I've got a few of those tv spots saved on a disc somewhere but i don't remember that scene.

Doom's role is apparently crucial to the story so i doubt that he has little screentime.Other than that i'm afraid you're right.

Well, just because Doom is crucial to the story doesn't necessarily mean he has a lot of screen time. Remember this film is around 82-85 minutes without credits therefore he could very well end up only having 10-15 minutes of screen time.

Which is fine in such a short film as long it's 10-15 quality minutes. When i'm thinking of little screentime i had Cyclops in X3 in mind.

Ah, the 5 minutes of screen time and then poof, he was gone. Let's hope that Doom has more significance than that. Hehe.

The 2 that come to mind was the

*scene* with Sue reading letters from people asking for help and her line was something to the effect of "they are asking us for help, and we can't even help ourselves..."

*scene* with Sue sitting at the table, Ben gets mad about something and goes crashing through the door, Sue's line "great...........now we need a new door"...

:wow: I completely forgot about the scene but i remember it vividly.

I thought it was a funny scene.... :(

I think we can be sure he does. :cwink:

And I think leaving Doom out of the ads (other than the back of his head) will prove to be a smart move, whether his character is greatly improved or not.

Yeah that scene is from the character TV spot for Ben....

That was in one of the character tv spots.

I was kinda bummed when that wasn't in the film.

Well that would mean developing characters and giving us more to see. According to Fox the audience doesn't have the attention span to take that extra 15-20 minutes in. :cwink:

I didn't really see a need to leave that scene in.......much the same as the elevator scene with Johnny really wasn't needed IMO, but looks like we are going to have that in the DC.....Ben's character and Johnny's character were very much developed in the first film, to the extent of the other characters being shafted in that area...but thats just my opinion...

Now, the scene with Reed and Sue talking about the letters, YES, I definitely think that was needed and should have been left in for character development.....very sad that it was left on the editing room floor....

I just wanted it in cause i thought it was funny and i liked the way Jess said it.

I think there was plenty of funny in the first film, but not enough characterization....

92 mins... Is this confirmed? Wikipedia has it at 120 mins. I know, anyone can edit that site but wiki is not always wrong.

That running time is of serious concern to me...real serious. I'm not sure WTF the deal is with fox, and why they try to game the movie making process with this cookie cutter crap, but I doubt they can delvier fully in that time, and it's a shame.

Not that I totally disagree with you, but why is 92 minutes such a "serious concern"?

I don't have a real problem with the length of the movie being 1 hour 32 minutes as long as they tell a really great, well-paced story. Several movies this summer that ran for 2 hours and more dragged on for far to long.

The comic fan (myself included) may want a film that 'never ends', however the general public's attention span has greatly shortened. These films are not just for the fans!

There are many great animated films that ran this length or shorter and they are able to tell really great stories. They have also made millions at the worldwide box office.

In my opinion, comic films are just live action versions of the animated world (a living comic book in a manner of speaking). Again, if it is well structured...it will be a great movie!!

ALSO, the 92 minute runtime also means that it can show more frequently in theaters per day. Hats off for making lots of money!

There's alot of ground to cover, with the intro of Silver Surfer and Galactus, plus i don't see how you can make Doom a major player with that limited an amount of time. The trailers have looked really hott, and I actually enjoyed the first film, but I hoped for a little more length and breadth for the 2nd film. Oh well...I certianly hope it's good.

I'm going to see it regardless of the rating and runtime because I'm seeing Silver Surfer onscreen for the first time, ever. And I also do want to see the reactions of the little kids in the audience, as they have created quite a FF following amongst them, even if we're all a tad too "old" for them now.

I totally agree. I have my fingers crossed. I really hope it's great!!
