Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

Not much of a Rush Hour fan. I know many people are, but I wasn't big on them.

I enjoyed them......they do show that you can put together a butt load of action, humor and a pretty good story into a short time period......and since alot of the humor and family coincide with each other in the F4 movie......I'll give it a try.....lol

True, the Rush Hour movies worked (I just wasn't a fan). I am giving the movie a chance (heck, I'm not always right), I just don't see the runtime as a point of confidence.

I agree with you there.....I just don't plan on walking into the movie with the runtime even on my mind........I'll be going in with a group that will cover about 2 full rows of family and friends with tons of coke and popcorn and candy..........and the runtime will not factor into their enjoyment of it, because they won't know.......and I won't tell them.........and I have a feeling I'll enjoy the movie as much as they will....

What's "Rush Hour?"

Kidding, kidding...

Just a little movie that pulled $244,386,864 in 1998.....

AND it's sequel

$347,325,802 in 2001 with a shorter runtime.......:cwink:

I loved the Rush Hour movies and the first Transporter but they aren't the sort of blueprints i'd like to see for an FF film

I will go with a big group, but there won't be popcorn or soda. I never have them at movies anymore because I will then have to end up needing to use the restroom during the climax (hampering my enjoyment). Unless I am seeing something I know I will hate (like Wild Hogs for example), I will not have drinks or popcorn.

I wasn't using Rush Hour as a perfect blue print, but only to show that action, humor and a good story can be done within this runtime.....just because the story will be darker in FF2 is not out of the question....for the runtime.....its enough of a comparison for me to put the runtime aside and simply enjoy the movie the movie in the time given....

Remember its only one hour and 32 minutes...lol

It doesn't matter. No matter the length, I end up in agony by the climax. I learned my lesson after X2 (had to hold it in during the entire Alkali Lake act).

I just hope that the comedic beats we've seen in the trailers and spots won't be chopped. I have a feeling that scenes like Sue's "I wasn't finished" are gonna end up on the cutting room floor.

I don't have a real problem with the length of the movie being 1 hour 32 minutes as long as they tell a really great, well-paced story. Several movies this summer (Spidey 3, Pirates 3) which run for 2 hours and more drags on for to long at times.

And all I see are length comparisons to action films, what about animated movies. There are many animated films that are even shorter that have made millions at the worldwide box office, which are also great movies.

Comic films are just a live action version of the animated world (a living comic book). Again, if it is well structured...it will be a great movie!!

Not to mention, the 92 minute runtime also means that it can show more frequently in theaters per day. Hats off for making lots of money!

I'm sure Fox didn't even think of that one!

:p

God I hope so. That was a cringeworthy scene for me.

Well with the heavy competition each week the more showings the better for Fox...within reason. 1.5 hours is not unreasonable. 1 hour would be.

Yep, I would almost bet money that is a chopped scene....

Me too. They always do that. How many awesome scenes did we all see in the first film's marketing that never made it to the theatres? And the No. 1 reason I think it's gonna get chopped is because it's....well, a character development scene.

The 2 that come to mind was the

*scene* with Sue reading letters from people asking for help and her line was something to the effect of "they are asking us for help, and we can't even help ourselves..."

*scene* with Sue sitting at the table, Ben gets mad about something and goes crashing through the door, Sue's line "great...........now we need a new door"...

You read my mind! Me too! I hope that's gonna be on the June 5th package Kel. Even the second trailer (which was released with SM2) had the "letter-reading" scene in it.

Very true. Look at Beauty and the Beast which was nominated for Best Picture at the Oscars and that was only 84 minutes long. Whiel I wish tthe movie were longer, it is possible to have a good film in that amount of time.

Hour and a half. Since when did this become a TV movie

2 scenes I remember specifically....

*Sue and Reed are discussing the 1000's of letters from people that are asking for their help....Sue says "People want us to save them, and we can't even help ourselves...." IMO a poignant scene....

*Family scene, where Ben gets mad, goes through the door.....Sue say...."Great now we need another door...." IMO pretty funny.....

And I believe there were others, those are just 2 I can think of off the top of my head....
Were those scenes filmed? I don't recall seeing them.
92 minutes is too short for an action movie, that is why it is like that. I can't name any 95 minutes or shorter action movies that are any good either. I don't care if anyone shows proof of good ones from the past, where I want to be proved wrong is in the theater on the 15th.
I do too.
Rush Hour was 97 minutes, 93 in Spain????

Rush Hour II 90 minutes...
I have both on dvd but it's not exactly what i want the FF franchise to be - quick funny action movies.

How did LS and I see them in TV spots if they weren't filmed.....lol:cwink:

Everytime I see a commercial for that Fantasticar at the theatre before a movie, I hear whispers of, "Fantastic Four, man....we gotta check that out, etc." So it's not like there will be a shortage of people that will clamor to see this. The commercials and marketing alone is getting them hyped up.
