Runtime confirmed by Fox: 92 minutes!

Yea i wont be seeing this in cinema's. To me, any film under 2 hours is not worth the price they charge now.

Was it a legit copy you got early or pirated???

And you people wonder why studios have to cut corners as their costs increase dramatically from people supporting piracy.

Actualy its the other way round. Piracy is encouraged by the rapid increse in price

Fox editing, Hoy and Co. STRIKES AGAIN!!!!!!!!

Argh!

This better be the best fast paced film ever for it to have such a short run time.

The only possible reason I can think of is they have so little faith in the product they want as many screenings as is humanly possible in as short a time as is humanly possible: Go for that quick buck rather than take a chance that an extended version might have some legs.

Now the film might well be very good and do just fine if the producers showed some spine and allowed the film to run at a time that suits the scope of it's content (and for this story near 2 hours would suit), but cutting it up to fit a pre-requisite 'magic' time slot does usually result in the kind of mess that was the first film, with plot holes the size of Galactus' anus (Doom's business going bust for no clear reason, stealing from himself, etc) and characters so lightweight you wonder why they even bothered putting them in there at all (Alicia).

I agree totally with you Wobbly:csad:

Though to be fair...even though I've just seen the extended cut and it makes a lot more sense, I think it was clear in the theatrical cut that Doom's business went bust because the investor's pulled out after the accident in space lowered the companies stock. Also, I imagine that even though Doom headed the company, I doubt he could just go and borrow/take some miiltary weapons just like that, I knowe its a fantasy world but I think that would be an even BIGGER stretch, ya' know whadda mean?:cwink:

They are legit......they are already in the warehouse Wal-mart and Target.....some sites have received them in the mail....they are out there....

I would find a image of Martin Luther King far more hopeful. Unless you are using this charlatan's image in a sarcastic way.

That phrase is uniquely associated with Jesse, I think that is why LS used his image. :cwink:

And yes we all want the film to be as long as it can be.

We are FF addicts, we are going to get our fix june 15th and obviously we are concerned that there may not be enough juice to satisfy the cravings that we have.

As you know if the film (juice) is so good but the quantity is defficient then the witdrawal phase can be even worse as the high will not be sustained at its normal peak until the next dose (FF3). (now this is all conjecture here speaking, not experience :cwink:)

So we are picking at our nails and pulling our hair out and staying up late watching trailers and sweating as we have no idea what will be the end of us on that day.

Some of us will be euphoric come June 15th and some of us will be unsatisfied but until the moment of truth we can look forward to the payoff.

So yes we have to keep hope alive cause right now all we have are withdrawal symptoms from the 2005 movie.

And the little teasers and tv spots have hooked us even more. Now we need a bigger dose than FF1 on June 15th.

We just have to have it.

Now speaking of drugs;

Don't do drugs!!:cmad:

Yeah, it's a legit copy. Again, I just rented it for the day. I haven't found a place that's put it out yet.

this is going to be like Kingdom of Heaven all over again:csad:

It may be ok. I don't know. They are only going to touch on the Surfers origin, and mabey the "G" Man. There are no introductions to be made. It's going to hit the ground running. Why I said, I will reserve judgement till I see it the 1st time, and if I feel I got my moneys worth, I'll go see it more. On the surface, this seams like bad news, but it may not be. We'll just have to wait and see.

:(:down 92 minutes? I really wish Fox would put quality before money or at least keep those priorities close.

Wow Fox, way to totally ice down what was once a really good promotional campaign with the Fanboys......

Look heres a fanboy now....

Guys, when you see the extended cut of the first film, you might get furious with Fox. And now, we have a running time for the sequel...a sequel that seems to be touching on some serious storytelling territory....that's shorter?

Who wants to bet that they'll release an extended cut of the sequel a year or so after this film is released June 15th?

Not saying it won't be good at 92 minutes but come on....98 minutes wasn't nearly enough for the origin film and when you see the extended cut, you'll see my point.

Ghostrider, Daredevil, Fantastic Four, to a lesser extent X-Men, X-Men The Last Stand, Kingdom of Heaven....I mean, does the list ever end with Fox?!

Been there done that after seeing the 17.34 minutes of deleted scenes over a year ago....lol

And I have to admit, after seeing it, I don't understand why Fox wanted it trimmed to 98 minutes....it really doesn't make any sense. It's a fuller film in its extended form. And with the humor, it wouldn't have bored the audience at almost two hours.

LOL. That's exactually what Fox has done. Thrown a bucket of ice water over what was good hype. Well if it is 92 minutes, you can forget the airport scenes totally. Forget the " What is it" with Sue and the military. Forget any Johnny, and Frankie development. This movie will start with the wedding, the arivial of the Surfer, the helicopter scene, the tunnel scene, then it will build from there. Action, action, action is what we will see.

Who wants to bet that Tim Story will be diplomatic about this situation and basically say this is the film he wanted to make while promoting this film....only cut come back a year later and give us an extended cut and it being the film he really wanted to make...?

I'd put my mortgage on it.

I think all movie editing departments shoud be hung. Let the director make the film, the way he feels the fans would want it, and leave it the hell alone, or trim a little off. Trim anything that truly adds nothing to the story. Don't cut the heart and soul out like they did the 1st one. Story had to be diplomatic, if he wants to do another movie ever. That's a no-brainer.

See, the problem is, the general public that's gonna make or break this film isn't paying as much attention to the actual production of the film as we are. And remember, Fantastic Four probably succeeded commercially as family counterprogramming to larger films. Even once casual moviegoers become aware of the runtime, they'll probably see it as an upside if they have kids. People who have had their patience (and bladders) tested by films like Spidey and Pirates 3 might appreciate a short, quick-paced action film like this.

If the film is relatively as successful as the first one, if not moreso, FOX will think they did good. And they'll never learn. They'll keep hacking films to pieces, and cutting, what it probably be, stuff that would have most assuredly made the film better. Such was proven to be the case with both Daredevil and X-Men. Even X3 had scenes alternate from what was presented in the theatrical cut, which would have much better served, at least the film's third act.

It's not about giving the fans what they wanted. It's about giving the story, the film what it needs to be a successful story. Again, the extended cut, more or less, shows this. The director's cut of Kingdom of Heaven shows this even more, even if it was Fox and Ridley(who got spooked at the last second), that made that decision on the film.

Still, it's about making the film work and if more character beats are important, damn it, leave them in there.

If this film is indeed 92 minutes and then we get an extended cut that significantly enhances the film on all fronts, it will be the final straw in what I think we all know is true about Fox...and to a larger extent, all studios.
