Rush Hour 3 to Start Filming this Fall

Finally!!!! I hope they go out with a big bang. I doubt they'll be interested in doing a fourth one since Chris Tucker was very difficult to negotiate with. I hope I'm wrong.

Chris Tucker has NO ROOM to be demanding all that cash - it's quite ridiculous. I do enjoy the films, so let's hope it's a good book-end to the trilogy.......

Brett Ratner's Rush Hour 3 Dream Cast

If all good things truly come in threes, then director Brett Ratner may soon become known as the Master of the Threequel.

Having directed The Silence of the Lambs prequel Red Dragon, the third movie starring Anthony Hopkins as Dr. Hannibal Lecter, and with the upcoming X-Men: The Last Stand, the third chapter in that franchise, Ratner will soon be taking on his third Threequel. On August 16, he's scheduled to go to Paris to start filming the third installment of the action-comedy on which he cut his teeth, Rush Hour 3. The plot of the movie starts with the duo in New York before moving to Paris, although Ratner is shooting the locations in reverse.

Obviously, Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan are back, but Ratner talked with ComingSoon.net about some of the actors he'd love to bring in for the third installment. "I'll tell you who I'm going after," he said with a burst of excitement. "I want Yao Ming, the basketball player, to be in it. I want to recreate the fight sequence from the Bruce Lee movie where he fights Kareem Abdul-Jabbar, but I want to do the reverse; I want Chris Tucker to fight Yao Ming. I want that to happen. I want Aishwarya Rai [the biggest female star in Bollywood] and I would love Gong Li [last seen in "Memoirs of a Geish"] to be in the movie. There's some people that I want, but I don't know if I'll be able to get them. Tony Jaa [star of last year's "Ong Bak: Thai Warrior"] I want, too. I love him."

"These guys have great chemistry and they love each other," Ratner replied when asked whether he thinks the dynamics between the stars might be the same after almost five years, before joking, "They both don't speak a word of English though."

Of course, Ratner's next movie is X-Men: The Last Stand, which opens on May 26. Look for a full interview with Ratner on SuperHeroHype! in the coming weeks.

lol they both don't speak english.

I could picture that Yao vs Tucker fight, that'd be fawking hilarious.

I Heard That Matt Heart From a band called Purpose wrote a song for Rush Hour 3.. I tried to do some research on this and found a website www.purposetheband.com I seen a picture of Arthur Sarkissian with Matt Heart at his birthday party but it didn't give any info. Does anyone know any differnet? Or what songs or artist they may use for this soundtrack. It also said he did some songs for the Spiderman movie and Hulk I followed a link to the songs ... They actually sound pretty good:yay: but who is this guy?

Wasn't Van Damme supposed to be in this? That would've been genius.

Well, too bad it's not gonna happen now, Yao Ming turned down the offer.

:cmad: I looked at Matt Hearts website and I checked all of the songs he did and none of them are on any CD for any movie. I think he is a scam!! He does the music but then lies and says he is on the movie soundtrack. I think that is pretty crappy seeing that all the people who do make it on a sound track put so much work into it and this Matt Heart just goes and says he is on a soundtrack, well, for that matter, I am on the Spiderman 3 soundtrack....CHECK IT OUT....

New Line Cinema has officially greenlit Rush Hour 3 with Chris Tucker and Jackie Chan signed on to star and Brett Ratner set to direct the latest installment of the popular franchise. New Line Production President Toby Emmerich announced today that the film will start production this fall for a planned 2007 release.

Tucker and Chan will reprise their respective roles as LAPD detective James Carter and Chinese Chief Inspector Lee in the film, which will feature the action comedy duo traveling to Paris to battle a wing of the Chinese organized crime family, the Triads.

"We are thrilled to team up with Chris, Jackie and Brett again to bring another installment of this entertaining franchise to life," says Emmerich. "The first two 'Rush Hour' films have become pop culture classics, and we are confident that the third one will deliver the trademark mix of great action and big laughs that made the previous films so successful."

Rush Hour 3 will be directed by Ratner ("Rush Hour" franchise, X-Men: The Last Stand, Red Dragon) from a screenplay by Rush Hour 2 writer Jeff Nathanson (Catch Me If You Can, The Terminal). The film is being produced by Arthur Sarkissian, Roger Birnbaum (Memoirs of a Geisha), Jay Stern and Jonathan Glickman (The Pacifier).

Production is being overseen for New Line by Emmerich and production executives Mark Kaufman and Michael Disco.

The previous films in the "Rush Hour" franchise -- including 1998's Rush Hour and 2001's Rush Hour 2 -- have a combined box office gross of nearly $1 billion worldwide.

Thanks for the good news. I can't wait for this movie to drop. It's one of my top movies that I want to see, come 2007
