Rush Hour 1 and 2 Respect thread!!

Not saying you were wrong. I took issue wiuth you saying that "white people" are inherently racist. To me, everybody is racist. (Here I go) Most black people I know are more racist than the white people I know, but its more "okay."

Thats exactly how I feel. People in general are racist but since Whites are the majority they are the ones who get labelled racist.

But see, since I'm white, I now look like a racist for saying that.

That's true but what right do I have to speak about a culture I barely known except for the tolken black kids at my school if I was asian I'd say asians, if I was french, I'd say french but I'm white teenage american. Plus racism has become so narrowminded to just blacks/white :( But I'm just saying I laugh at black comedians and what not when they make jokes about there culture, but people should keep in mind, why they laugh

every race has people who are racist. lets end the discussion?

Nah but my argument is everyone's racist and with the advent of Political Correctness, people hide behind that to pretend there not racist...

I know we'll never have an american JC movie that measures up to Project A, Police Story, Dragons Forever, Drunken Master 2, Wheels on Meals and good stuff like that, but I think the RH and SN series have been great (then again, I also loved ATWI80D :o)

Well, Shanghai Noon and Knights are essentially the Rush Hour series in the old west. They follow RH formula for both movies:

RH1/SN - Chan's character comes to America and teams up with an obnoxious local to find important Chinese female
RH2/SK - Chan and American partner are joined by hot female to fight someone who turns out to be responsible for the death of Chan's character's father.

Finally these movies get some respect.
Kudos for this thread.

RH1/2 were great, hilarious movies.

Coincidence?

I think not...

Hmm...true

I have never seen these films but RH2 was on TV the other night and I watched a few minutes of it. Obviously Chris Tucker is trying to be Eddie Murphy, but he comes off more as a whiney Prince. Then again, the writing sucks too.

After about 10 minutes I said "Yep, that looks about as stupid as I figured it would" and turned the channel.

Ok how about blacks enslave whites for hundreds of years then oppress them socially and politically for another hundred. THEN blacks can be labelled racist more often. Fair deal?

Two of my all time favorite movies. I really enjoyed both of them. It was a great combination of Chan's martial arts scenes and Tucker's humor. Some really impressive action scenes with some of the funniest one liners I've heard in a while. I always enjoy the scenes when the two of them take on 20 or so guys. Tucker's fighting combined with his jokes make you laugh while at the same time Chan impressive you with some amazing feat.

To be fair, most of us "whites" come from immigrant families, who immigrated here long after the emancipation proclomation, my family came over at the turn of the century, 1900. Also quite a few slaves were sold to the white men by chiefs of the tribes of africa...
