Apparently he isn't going to try to be funny or make jokes. Which begs the question, why the hell is he hosting then? Isn't the point of the host to add a sense of humor to the show so it doesn't come off as a big Hollywood ego-fest?

I have no problems with Seacrest in general, but I can't imagine him hosting an awards show like this. They do tend to get comedians to crack jokes on all the big wigs in the audience, and I honestly can't see this guy making a joke without it coming off really uber bland.

I'm glad to share in the dismay of this announcement but still, the bottom line is Fox TV Execs are fools, and the Emmy's will be a complete farse with someone like Seacrest overseeing it. Think about it, the celebrities in the audience won't even be listening to him! How will they know to come up when they win/don't win??
