The others weren't that emotional for me. Yinsen caught me by surprise which made it an even bigger emotional impact.

Peggy losing Cap though. The war both kept them apart and brought them together. In that crash they lost a love you could tell would be a burning love.

For me it has to be the death of Coulson in the avengers but honourable mention definitely goes to captain america's conversation with Peggy. It's so sad because you can see he has been dealing with her Alzheimer's quietly without telling anyone what the effect of that on his mental health has been as well as for poor peggy

Good choice. I agree. A close second is how Doctor Doom has looked and acted in the movies.

I think the after credit scene from winter soldier was pretty sad... The one where Bucky is checking out the museum and realizes who he really is. Haven't seen it mentioned yet.

Also Tony calling Pepper hit me and as someone else said, the scene from TIH when Hulk and Betty were on the rooftop and the spotlight hits him. The face he makes before he takes off.

Kidding aside, I will admit that Groot's death in Guardians of the Galaxy is pretty well done (even if it's a fake out), and I feel bad for Peter Quill in the first scene. But other than that, I wouldn't really qualify these films as having "sad" scenes. Which is again what makes Guardians so special since it's the silliest film from the studio, yet somehow still the most affecting.

I agree. Guardians is the only MCU film that actually touched me.

I'll say Steve visiting Peggy, Peter's mom dying, Groots "death" and Loki's true feelings in Thor the Dark World.

Cap visiting Peggy is tops for me though, I remember some women behind me actually tearing up and crying. Just remembering how TFA ended and the fact that they finally got to meet and Peggy had thee worst illness you could have in that situation made it a tough watch.


It was an amazing scene too. I am sure we would have all loved to have seen her reaction when she finally met him again. We didn't and we did.

That's the order I would put it.
The story of the captain is probably the most sad of all, he keeps having bad stuff happen to him... who knows maybe my new #1 will be when (*if) the cap dies in Civil War. Wait... is that three movies where it seems like he died in... if he dies in Civil War that is.
