So I'm on my way to buy my pops a wrench for Fathers Day tomorrow and I decide 'What the hell....' and stop into good ol' Toys 'R' Us to see what's up.

No Biker Scout Star Wars VOTC figure which blew but lo and behold who do I see staring at me saying 'Please get me out of this see through plastic prison!'? ULTRA HEAT VISION 7-inch SUPERMAN RETURNS FIGURE!!!

Quite possibly the most saught after figure (at least I think) and he is at my Toys 'R' Us! Killer! However the one that they had on the shelf looked like someone hit him repeatedly in the face with a large frying pan (his nose was all messed up and paint chipping galore)

So I asked a nice dude who worked there to check the back and he brought out a case for me. I picked 2 Heat Vision Superman figures.

Now the figure itself is a perfect size no question about that (....at least for me :O ) And I am SO happy to report that all his wicked little intracacies of detailing are there I.E.-the cool criss cross pattern on his suit, the boots (which are amazing!) and his colours and cape.

His face? Mehhhh.....LoL, kinda a little to be desired :) I mean the action itself is cool-push in his 'S' and his eyes light up. It works well and the 'S' symbol blends seamlessley into his chest so it doesn't look weird, what DOES look weird is that if you look closely at his eyes the blue part or the pupils are completley cut out and the holes go from his eyes right through his head so as to let the red beam of light shine through I'd imagine.

His 'whites' of his eyes are around said holes and they don't look bad from far away. The 2nd figure I got has a litttttttle way too much white in the pupils and has a look on his face that is kinda like 'LOOOOOKAT ME *****ES, I SHOOT LASERS OUT OF MY EYES!!!' ...so my advice is to rifle through what figures are there and find one where his eyes aren't so bad.

His articulation is awesome. I find articulation is great but not when it's over done I.E.-fingers, toes ass hair ;) Sometimes Toy Biz goes overboard with their ML figures. With this Superman figure it's just dandy! His wrists are made into cool fists which aren't sculpted like oversized mitts that look all wonky...they move, his elbows bend, he has ball jointed shoulders (THANK THE LORD!) his knees bend, his ankles have articulation his waist and he has really cool leg movement up by his underwear, it's a joint I've never seen on a figure (at least I can't recall a joint like this on any figure I'm aware of..maybe it'll come to me)

So he is well articulated, however his neck doesn't really move all that well so you can't put his head up or down or side to side really.

All in all a FANTABOULOUS FIGURE! Really really great effort by Mattel. I just wish that this line would expand but I highly doubt it :( kinda blows...I'd love a Lex Luthor and Lois and generic 'henchman' type figure.

So yeah that's it, sorry for the no pics. but I hope this helped to anyone curious about the figure
