Saints Row 2

Okay? And there's more to Saint's Row.

You're PLAYING for the game itself. The gameplay is fun, unique to SR and different. I almost feel like people are stuck with what they're most familiar with. Like now that GTA has been enducted into pop-culture, people are giving it more credit.

So many would tell you that FF is the best RPG series ever...Even so far as saying FF7 the best game. But is it? Just because it's the most famous?

No, there was more to Saints Row, when the most comparable game to it was GTA : San Andreas. What GTA IV is going to do is redefine how a virtual city acts. The gameplay was fun and was unique but now that GTA IV is here it'll LEAP over all of the gameplay that was put forth by SR. GTA IV wont be a vastly superior experience over SR2 because of its popularity, itll be a vastly superior experience because itll be by far the better game, story, control, immersion, multiplayer, you name it GTA IV will do it better than SR2.

I feel pretty bad for Saints Row 2. GTA IV will overshadow it completely.

Give it one more chance. Why can't we give Saints, give saints, give saints, give saints, why can't give Saints one more chance?

Because GTA is Art that belongs in a museum, Saints Row is the bad Dragonball Z fan art that gets posted on the internet.

Rockstar took it's time and crafted a real feat of technology. No one has ever seen this level of depth and integration. Saints Row is very shallow.

It had it's place in the lull between GTA games, when Rockstar was busy doing something no one has done before. But I think it's time Saints Row fell away and never came back.

Because there is no point to. ANYTHING that Saints Row 2 was set to do, will be done and be done MUCH better with GTA IV. If you enjoyed Saints Row, then you are sure to LOVE GTA IV and if you purchase GTA IV youll need not even bother playing Saints Row 2 as youll already be playing the vastly superior game. Saints Row 2 wont do a thing better than GTA IV, not one. The guys at Rockstar are going to make the guys at Volition look like chumps.

I'm not sure what your referring too but running checkpoints and killing things isn't any grand feat of depth, the game is awesome and all, I'm not dying that GTA III would be on my top 10 list if it had to be made. As far as interactivity with a world goes. I'd argue Baldur's Gate, which was around during the same time as grand theft auto 1997/1998 had much more. The whole sandbox of crime thing though, SR has cloned, a game like Mafia while similar in respects, has more of an identity, SR from what I played, which is admittedly not much, seemed more of a carbon copy.

What makes GTA equivalent to "art that belongs in a museum" isn't its gameplay or the city, its everything else. Its Rockstars brilliant take on American cities and American culture. The satire there is some of the best in entertainment history.

Oh yea certainly, it's a game character.

Every reviewer so far has agreed that GTAIV is a real amazing achievement. From the insane detail and tightness of the city, to the physics, to the graphics, to the story, to the characters, to the dialogue, to the voice acting, to the missions. It's all tight.

Rockstar and the Houser's believe that videogames are an artform, and they put a lot of time and effort into GTAIV. Yes at it's core it isn't much different than GTA3, which is an amazing game. But wrapped around that core is an amazing story and amazing gameplay.

The GTA games have all pushed boundaries and inspired countless games. But R* has honed in and made a completely immersive and all around great game in IV.

this movie will be kool
i always did like the first saints row over any gta

No character. The guy you play as in Saints Row has no character or story or personality at all. They might as well be faceless.

But Kaine, it's you! You're supposed to see the character as yourself, that's why you've made them. And if not yourself then as whatever character you want them to be. In that respect, it's one of the first games where I get to make my OWN story.

You seem like a cool kid...Do you wear hoodies? Maybe you always wear this one green one and blue sneakers. Voila! You can make Kainedamo in the game!

You always agree with someone who doesn't say anything, so the character can never say something that's wrong or lame or whatever.

I can be "me" or whoever I want on multiplayer.

To me, the most memorable video games are the ones where the lead character has something to say, or stands out in some way with their own look and/or personality.

Solid Snake
Cloud
Link
James from Silent Hill 2

War is hell, soldiers are pawns for the government, but man.. I make it look uber good and appealing for teenys!

You can't make your own story. Yeah you make a voiceless character, but he still joins the Saints and tries to take back the row and then gets double crossed and blows up on a boat.

It's a game without any heart. Like I said, I praised Saints before, it was a really fun game. But IV is going to be better than Saints Row 2 in every possible way.

I usually hate the main characters from the GTA games. Vercetti was an *******, and while C.J. had some redeeming qualities, he was still short-sighted and pretty dumb.

Vercetti was such a badass. I loved him.

"I just wanted to piss you off before I killed you."
