Who should play Flagg for the upcoming Squad film?

What are the odds Flagg will actually show up? I think Deadshot is a more likely candidate for team leader. But either way, Jim Cavaziel would be my choice for either, as the roles are pretty similar.

I think it's a fair question about Flagg being in the film, but remember, somebody has to be the White Knight on a team full of Knaves. Plus, you could Ned Stark old Flagg and gut shot the audience by killing him off in the finale. Most would expect the one "good guy" on the team to make it out alive. Doing something like that with Flagg would be great drama to me.

I suppose that he could work as an "expendable good guy", since they aren't going to kill off Deadshot.

I don't think Rick Flagg is a must by any means. He's been a huge character in the comics, but the Squad works just fine without him.

I'd probably leave him out to make way for a different character that could potentially open up the DCCU a bit more.

It's a good idea to not use too many "Suicide Squad only" characters. Introducing villains in this movie that could show up in other movies would be a smart move to get the ball rolling on this nascent universe

I again ask... Who baby sits a team full of unstable villains on mission then? Who slaps freaking Harley Quinn and Deadshot down when their psychological instabilities become a detriment to what ever objective the Squad is supposed to be after. The Dirty Dozen needed to have Lee Marvin there, so... Who is that going to be if you don't have Flagg?

I guess I've always viewed Deadshot as a good deal more stable, morally and mentally, than you do.

I see what you're saying, but with a word, Amanda could kill any of her Suicide Squad. That would provide the motivation to stay in line. Rick Flag does serve a purpose on the team, but I feel like Amanda constantly watching over them would do sort of the same thing.

Assault on Arkham was a great movie, one of the more enjoyable DC animated movies, and it used a pretty non traditional lineup.

It'll be very interesting to find out what the lineup is for this movie.

A guy with a Death wish is maybe the last person you'd want to have as leader though. Just saying.

Despite what current rumors say, I still think Col. Rick Flag is the part that Will Smith is up for.

Well, if Flagg is the team leader, then this makes a bit more sense. I think Deadshot would make a cooler leader character, but if Hardy is playing Flagg, then the movie sounds like it's in good hands.

Name change.

Das it!

Welcome back to DC Mr. Hardy.

This will be VERY interesting. Great choice, and I hope there is well written interplay between Flagg and the rest, since Hardy is great at making dialogue sing.

Adding Tom Hardy to this can only be a plus. Great actor.

[Incoming Call] Bale

Hardy: Hey, chap! How are you?

Bale: I see you doing another comic film...*pause*

Hardy: Yeah, the project is wonderful...I couldn't say 'no'.

Bale: WELL. GOOD. FOR. YOU. * hangs up*

EXT. London Home -Afternoon

Nolan feels a slight pain in his heart, he drops his cup of tea and begins to weep.

Emma: What's wrong?!

Nolan: I feel like one of my children will betray me.

Emma: It would be extremely painful...FOR YOU.

Rick Flagg NEEDS to be a big guy. His day job is babysitting criminals that take on super powered vigilantes, and smacking them down when they start going all caca poo-poo in the brain. I think the way they presented him in JLU is pitch perfect. This is very good casting.
