watching the cartoons growing up i always thought JJJ and Ross were practically twins. i never suggested Eliot because he already was Ross, so this is kind of funny

Err..Not S.Elliot again in a marvel movie. He might fit the role perfect and be a great actor, but he has played already 2 marvel characters.

However, if Sony was smart, they'd just bring back J.K. Simmons. The guy owned the role.

I hate when Marvel casts an actor they used before as someone else. Messes with the universe IMO.

I wouldn't mind Sam Elliot. He definitely would have Jameson's snappy attitude down, though I hope Hugh Laurie is among those considered.

This is a character I'm not too worried about. His essence is something a little bit harder to miss, and something I'm sure Webb can handle. Somebody who's the total opposite of Clark Gregg in 500 Days of Summer. An older actor who can handle the very gruff, critical, very New Yorky frustrated energy that JJ exudes, as well as an actor who is a sly comedian. These are the scenes that I can't wait to see Garfield in.

Stephen Lang would certainly be interesting. Although I've never seen him in anything outside of /\ \/ /\ T /\ R

I thought of R. Lee Ermey as well. However, Simmons nailed JJJ. I mean he was perfectly cast and imo will not be topped. Sort of like RDJ as Tony Stark, Simmons was JJJ through and through. I certainly would not mind Simmons coming back. Judi Dench as M in Casino Royale didn't bother anybody so I don't see how Simmons as JJJ would either. He is a minor character anyways.

normally I'd agree...
though, technically its not like their being re-used by the same studio or anything... they were used in other marvel movies, yes... but, each of those movies were made by a different studio (so, they are really all part the the same movie-verse)... an one was already rebooted, so he's never going to reappear as that character again (the role was already recast)... and their not likely to repress their other roles again either, even those the movies are going ahead with sequels...

so, who are we going to hear about getting a role next, Donal Logue...lol

I don't really think Sam Elliot would be good for the role. I love the idea of Slattery though. I have a feeling he'll get chosen as the decisions they've been making on the reboot have kinda been surprises and they've been people you never woulda guessed. My ideas were william Hurt, bruce Greenwood, Liam Neeson, and even Josh Brolin and RDJ both going allZout on the role and also getting aged by the makeup crew.
