“We’re doing our best to resolve it.”

This is one for all of us PS3 owners living in the SCEE regional areas (basically everywhere outside of the US and Japan) who have been forced to wait for titles to come to the PSN store for much longer than our counterparts.

Sometimes we are left waiting a week or two but in other cases we are left waiting for months on end for things that don't seem to ever want to arrive e.g. Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix which is available everywhere except Europe.

Capcom of course wont give an explanation and I frequently read the EU Forum where the staff wont give any info either. So the article above goes a long way to show where the problem lies and to be honest it is annoying 99% of the time.

A few guys have started a petition calling for SCEE to treat their customers just the same as everywhere else and provide us with information etc.

You can find the SCEE Equality Appeal here:
http://www.sceeea.com

and the petition here:
http://www.sceeea.com/?page_id=29

So even if you're not in Europe and would like to see us get the same stuff as you and vice versa please sign it. I know that these things don't always work but you never know.

I'm not in EU, but you know how I feel about the treatment you guys get from SCEE. Petition signed.

I hope you Europeans have to wait. Well, just the French. Anything to spite the French I completely support. USA, USA, USA!

Forget the French... they're probably holding it back. I'm 100% Irish and I think we deserve the games.

I was reading an interesting post on the SCEE forums about the delays and it turns out that the average wait between a Sony developed title being released on the US store and the EU store is 7.5 weeks. There is never any official reason given for this at all and they never come out with any information at all.

There's no official blog, no official announcements until AFTER someone else posts them because they heard about it from the US, no information provided about anything and we're left in the lurch when it comes to everything. Not to forget the premium prices we pay just to have the same things.

That´s one of the reasons why i dislike Sony more and more as time goes by, there is no respect for their consumers.
Why is that 98% of the XBLA games are released everywhere at the same time, and not on the PSN?
Why is that games like PAIN and Penny Arcade episode 1 took 4 months to arrive to the Euro PSN?
The contrary is also true, games that take months or weeks to arrive to the US PSN.
And the less we talk about Super Street Fighter II Turbo HD Remix for the PAL PSN the better.
And the PSN one classics is even more ridiculous, 95% of the games are for Japan only.

Microsoft can have all the problems in the world, but at least 98% of the XBLA games go everywhere at the same time.
And so far, all the US exclusive games suck.

If not for the retail games, i would never think of buying a PS3.

Sony is really a sad little company....

In this year CES, Sony went on about how now the PS3 is a real bargain compared to the 360, for all features and functionalities it comes with right out the box (Wi-Fi, Free online, blu-ray and whatnot).
Now, Sony made a second argument: What you can buy for the cost of Xbox Live.

"Rather than paying a $50 subscription fee that competitors charge for on-line services, PlayStation Network users could put that money towards a variety of content," the company claims. What could you get?

PAIN ($9.99)
Elefunk ($4.99)
Guitar Hero Classic Rock Track ($6.25)
LittleBigPlanet™ Metal Gear Solid® - Level Kit ($5.99)
Episode of Afro Samurai | Season 1 ($1.99)
The Dark Knight Movie ($14.99)
Samurai Sword Rack, Diesel Tiamallo Blue Hooded Top, Ligne Roset Alster Chair for PlayStation Home ($4.47)

or

Super Street Fighter® II Turbo HD Remix ($14.99)
Burnout™ Paradise (Full Retail Game) ($19.99)
The Hoff Character for PAIN ($1.99)
LittleBigPlanet™ Ryu of Street Fighter® II ($1.99)
Robot Trooper and Basketball Boots for PlayStation Home ($.98)
Savage Moon ($9.99)

How sad is that?
I´m not saying that they have a point, they do, but to actually focus on your competitors "flaws" insted of your console strenghts is pathetic, it´s a cry for help: "Please, buy our console, we are better than the other...honestly", it´s a sign of pure desperation: "We don´t have anything to show, so let´s attack the other man".
Stop that Sony, it just makes people feel sorry for you.
And insted of attacking Microsoft, release the fricking PSN games on the PAL store

Like i said before, if it wasn´t for the games, i would never buy a PS3.

Dude, seriously, if you haven't noticed in these last couple of months Microsoft is just as guilty of this as Sony. Both of them have been going after each others nuts pretty furiously over sales and online and both have been taking shots like this.

Sure, and maybe i´m wrong, but from what i´ve read, Sony always starts it.
Sure, it makes them look like 12 year old kids fighting in the playground, but even so, why does Sony feels the need to do it everything time?

That is highly inaccurate. Probably the example that comes to mind was recently when Microsoft criticized the PS3 Home. If I remember they called it outdated and irrelevant. Funny when they themselves had just released an equally as irrelevant interface to the 360. MS started that.

Also, this has been a longer time ago, but MS bashed the PSN's free online as 'getting what you pay for' and talked about the 360's XBLA has so much more games and content over the PSN. MS once again started that without being 'attacked' or whatever

Sure Sony responds and Sony starts it too (The PROD comments from them, for example), but they don't every time, not even close. Both companies try to throw PR spin against their competition and builds themselves up. That's business

EDIT: Hell, I can go back even farther since before the beginning. I remember at the E3 that the PS3 price point was announced, the next day the MS rep was talking about how you could buy a 360 and a Wii for the same price.
