I don't know man. I mean I suppose I appreciate trying to bring some weight to the Jimmy Olsen role (if the rumors are true), but making him a double amputee just to tie the film to the chaos that insued in MOS? Frankly, it feels like gritty, depressing, fanfic.

I fear this franchise is always going have to battle with this. Trying to do something, something that may perhaps work in near any other film(including Shazam) but simply too far removed from what is expected from Superman.

I think the ultimate move would be for them to use the 'lows and depressing' to really sell their hope and inspiring.

Maybe they will turn Lombard into a triple amputee as well given the majority of his lines last time out. 'Jenny' rejecting his date offers won't be so much funny but tragic in that scenario. Gritty WB for the win.

Not exactly. depends on the charisma and the personality he has. This only adds humanity but if his behavior is really easygoing, it would be an awesome character.

If it was an accident during his job. the boss has to pay him all the things he need. And also it can be Lex doing some charity to his own purposes later one discovered.
