The Studio ultimately makes these decisions, and they are allowing prototypes to be shown for Deadpool. It's not different in that case. Why do you think Reynolds just recently got on twitter, he more then likely knew he had the greenlight to support the flick.

Given the leaked footage and script, they are confident in Deadpool now and how he will be received. Not the case for F4. That's what's different. DOFP and now Apocalypse go this route as well.

Fox obviously likes marketing, support and hype. They also know Twitter is a cheap effective way of marketing and a great way getting the fans involved. Nothing bad will come from it regarding Deadpool, we have seen what happens on the internet with the other property.

Ryan Reynolds just tweeted this picture, apparently it's a prototype.

Meh, I would have gone with the Origins look.:o

Seriously though, just a year away from seeing an actual, proper, Deadpool movie :woo:

Some people really do just want to watch the world burn :funny:

Lol could you imagine the outcry if they went that root again:

Thankfully that one prototype pick alone shows they are heading on the right track. At the very least we will have a decent looking Deadpool character asthetically this time on the big screen and that has to be an encouraging thought.

I'd definitely be ticked if they went that direction again, but thankfully the people behind this project seem bent on making sure that doesn't happen, everything I've seen from this project so far has been encouraging.

Sites are reporting that Collosus is back... The continuity hurts :(

I hope this will look as expensive as the Kingsman movie. It had a budget of $81 million.

I'm just starting to get back into the Deadpool movie news. Is the script that was written by Reese and Wernick still being used, or was it scrapped? I remember people positively raving about it when it leaked a couple years ago.

Rhett Reese wanted this film to happen judging from his Twitter's activity last year so yeah I think they are using his script. And I think they tweaked the script a little bit so it would pass for a PG-13 MPAA rating.

I'm sure they have plans for both a PG-13 or an R rating. Fox will likely wait and see how Kingsman does before deciding on what rating to shoot for.

If they don't fully commit to doing shooting for an R, meaning that they use blood squibs on set, then they should better not bother at all to deliver an eventual 'harder' cut. I can do without CGI blood badly added in post. Either or...

Was Kingsman R rated in the US?! That's nuts, no way its that highly rated!!

Do they use blood squibs anymore? I figure they'd just plan on doing it in post either way.

Highly doubt T Ray.

Ajax, Garrison Kane, Wyre and Sluggo in the script fit that bill as well. But vain, torture and violent definitely are words that describe Ajax. T-Ray could have replaced one of those guys but given he's a bigger villain for Deadpool, I'd say he would be more for a sequel. Don't see them getting rid of Ajax in any way since this has to have the workshop involved. And that comes with mass torture of patients.

While the character names may be changed a bit, Ajax is really the only villain I see as being required.

Well, that's what happens when you let Sam Jackson speak like Sam Jackson. I haven't seen it yet, but I'm pretty certain the language alone was enough to put it at R.

If they can make 40 mil on that opening week on Valentines no reason Deadpool can't. Same kind of style and tone here. Ultra violent, R rated comic book action/comedy. This has to boost Fox's confidence in the release date and rating.

The main issue with Deadpool being R is that his fan base is much bigger and much younger then something like Kingsman. Kids and early teens like him alot. Your turning away a big chunk of your audience. Much like one would Wolverine.

I say screw it and make it R at this point, especially if they are using the excuse it had to be a lower budget because it's a risk. The younger audience will find it on Blu ray and digital. If it's not R then there's hardly a risk in a Marvel Superhero property nowadays. Esepcially with a fan base like Deadpools. No reason a pg-13 Deadpool couldn't have a decent budget of around 70 million. That is still low. Don't even think pg-13 Marvel films have had any box office flops, with the exception of the second Ghost Rider and Elektra. That's because the reception of the first's were low. Ghost Rider 1 and Daredevil still made cash. Those films had a budget of 80-110m back in the day.
