Scream 4!!!!!

You know.. I watched Broken Arrow the other night and just remembered that a track from it's score had been used in Scream 2 as Dewey's Theme.

Wow, that is some serious recall. Kudos.

In another musical note, I'm hoping for and expecting a new version of "Red Right Hand." I've always loved that song, and it's so linked to this series (at least to me), the tradition must be maintained.

But I admit, I like 2 more than 3. Mostly because I hate the camp. As a Batman fan, I'm quite spiteful when something deathly serious loses all of it's dramatic impact by being more funny than serious.

... I'm also a rarity that seems to have massive disdain for Parker Posey.

Agreed on all counts- I much prefer Scream 2 over the third film for many reasons (plus, I just love the mood and feel of that film, and for some strange reason I love the college campus setting- probably the best looking college campus in any film) and I can't stand Parker Posey, either. She automatically ruins everything she's in just by being in the film. Her appearance tears down Scream 3 a few notches just with her presence.

Thanks man and Yes i love that song too. It's a staple for these films.

Agreed.

Parker Posey just ruined all the scenes that were supposed to be tense or serious. Even her death scene was pure cheese, where she's shouting at Ghostface "You can't kill me, I'm the killer in Stab 3. I'M THE KILLER IN STAB 3!!!"

Ugh!!! Scream 3 is just full of this corny rubbish.

Okay, over the past couple of days, I rewatched "Scream" and watched "Scream 2" and "Scream 3" for the first time. I gotta say, "Scary Movie" really ruined Ghostface for me. He just isn't scary. At all. It's just someone in a "blowj*b face" mask running around, tripping over ****, getting punched in the face by his would-be victims, then finally killing them due to their own stupidity. Having said that, I think these movies are fun as hell anyway. At least the first two. I really liked the second one, even though they killed off Randy. The third one was kinda meh. But "Scream 4" looks like fun too, so I'm in.

WE GET IT. You DON'T like Scream 3. :o

I always find it interesting when people condemn Scream 3 for this reason. It's like people have somehow forgotten that the Scream series were created to mock horror movies. In many ways, the Scream movies are nothing more than an intelligent spoof.

I'm pretty sure I remember that Scream was supposed to be satirical. Everyone dying by stupidity was the point of the first film. You know... like Black Dynamite is to blacksploitation films.

Scream 4 looks to be a great continuation of the series. I can't wait :)

And I'll keep saying it as often as I like :cwink:

Scream 3 took the comedy in Scream 1 and 2, and multiplied it by ten. Watching Scream 3 was like watching an episode of Scooby Doo.

You'll not find one kill in Scream 1 and 2 as OTT as the likes of the house explosion, or see any of the victims shout stupid BS like "You can't kill me, I'm the killer in Stab 3" right before they die.

Even Gale, one of the most bad ass characters in these movies, became a corny goofball in Scream 3. Having Parker Posey's irritating character hanging around her for the whole movie didn't help either.

IT'S the ONLY thing you say in the thread now. And last time I checked the thread was named ''Scream 4!!!!!!" not ''Scream 3!!!!!"

And that's just in the last few days. Don't make ludicrous statements like that just because a debate about Scream 3 broke out recently.

And last time I checked the thread was named ''Scream 4!!!!!!" not ''Scream 3!!!!!"

Really? Then you'd better pull everyone else into line who talks about the other movies, too :o

That rascal, Drizzle, made an OT post above. Seen made one in response to Jow's post above, too. In fact, if you go through this thread, you can find hundreds of posts talking about Scream 1-3.

There's nothing wrong with discussing the other movies. You've done it yourself several times. So stop being a hypocrite by singling me out mmmmkay.

EVERY PAGE. I SWEAR EVERY PAGE of the thread, I see you complain about Scream 3. I'm not the only one that surely has caught this.

I know you have the right to your opinion, but damn you're really starting to shove it on people.

Also there's nothing wrong with DIFFERENT offtopic posts, but EVERY offtopic post of yours is the same.

But whatever.

And that's just a handful I was even bothered to sift through.

I know you have the right to your opinion, but damn you're really starting to shove it on people.

Shove it on people? In what way have I shoved anything on anyone? I've never even started a Scream 3 discussion. I'm a reactionary poster. I usually respond to someone else bringing up the topic.

If you don't like my posts, dude, then just put me on ignore if my Scream 3 criticism is bothering you so much. I'm not going to stop criticizing it when ever I feel like it, unless off topic posts about the other Scream movies are forbidden by a moderator.

Let's get back to the discussion on the new Scream movie.

Yeah, so Scream 4. No spoilers? I know I sound annoying, but I just hope I can't be spoiled before this comes out. I want to be completely guessing. The last three films did a great job of this. I want to keep it the same here. The most fun is guessing who the killer is.

The interesting thing about this new movie is that it's 10 years later........

It's not only who the killer is that needs to be shocking, but their motive.

Assuming Scream 4 is successful enough to warrant Scream 5 and Scream 6, I would actually love to see the killer's identity remain a mystery throughout this new trilogy, only revealed at the end of 6.

I want the killer to be Joshua Jackson. He was in Scream 2 and he did literally nothing. Didn't get killed, wasn't the killer... nothing.

Not as a character, just Joshua Jackson, his motive being not getting any screentime in Scream 2. :oldrazz:

Also, Joshua Jackson was in Scream 2? I don't remember that - although I get the feeling that the next time I watch it, I'll see him and kick myself for forgetting. I guess that's where Williamson "discovered" him and lead to casting him in Dawson's Creek?

I always thought it was weird that Conway was in Scream 2 for three lines in 2 minutes and that was it...
