Not as much as I want I fear, but still enough to make it the best thing ever =D

Yeah I get the feeling we'll get like 20 minutes at most
But my hope would be for as much as possible, so I voted 40-50

honestly, I wish it would be mostly future, with just scant flashbacks
but for some reason, everybody loves the first class stuff

Definetly not 20 minutes...I mean I can't say that for sure, but with the amount of filming they did on the future scenes (1 month) + additional footage in late November, it will clock in higher than 20.

You have to consider that the 3rd act is (apparently) the fight against the Sentinels in the past and the future, so there will be quite a bit of exposure for any of the surviving mutants in that battle (probably Magneto, Kitty, Xavier, Sunspot, etc...not sure about Storm due to her small window of filming)

its a First class sequel, its in the first class sequel spot, which is probably why when it was developed they had it in mind to be a first class sequel

I know that, I just hated first class, so I'd prefer we not spend time with those characters.
but I also know I'm in a seemingly small minority there, for some reason.

Don't we already know the answer to this? It's been 25%-30% for the longest now and in a 2+ hour movie, that's just about 30 minutes.

Which makes absolute sense given the original comic arc since most of the meat of the story takes place in the past. Why would there be more future scenes? They play such a small role in the entire context of the story being told.

does 30% = 30 minutes though? i know nothing about % and it doesn't sound like alot of people on here do either but surely % doesn't = the same as minutes?

i assume it would take knowing the full length of the film before you would even be able to guess

If it's a 2+ hour movie, we're already looking at 30-36 minutes AT LEAST.

30% of 100 minutes is 30 minutes. If the movie is 2+ hours long then thirty percent would be longer.

40+ minutes if the future scenes are 30% of a 2+ hour film and 30+ minutes if the scenes are 25%.

The past will have to get way over an hour for it to make sense, it can't be hour each because that would be 50% each I'd imagine, so to add extra 20% to that

It all depends how long the film is

I doubt the future scenes will be anywhere near an hour - that's just not the sole focus of this story. It wasn't in the comics so I don't see why it would be treated as such in the movie adaptation.

The future storyline is straight forward - they're just trying to protect Wolvie, much like how they were protecting Kitty in the comics. There's only so much they are going to eek out of that before it becomes nothing more than a ploy just to have the original characters in the movie longer.

25-30% of the movie is very warranted for how much it plays in the overall story.

For the moment, the future scene are :
- Opening in Moscow
- Temple
- Xavier, Magneto, Iceman in New York ( i have the feeling they weren't here for Rogue in first place)
- Third act with the ship

So i think 35-40 minute in total

Yeah, going from what's been said 30-35 min is probably a safe bet. We know alot of these future characters won't have much dialogue or screen time as well. If there's more that would be awesome, but I'm not gonna set myself up expecting that.

Most the story here is in the past and that's more then appropriate given the source like you mentioned. The characters with major arcs are in the past not the future, with probably a bit of Magento/Charles development in the future to coincide with the past versions. That relationship will be crucial and with them being in deaths view can make for some strong moments with all they have fought for and disagreed with through the years.

If Singer said 25% then most of the plot will be in the past. Hard to say accurately since the running time isn't exactly known yet.
