There have some reports for some reason Marvel Studios has rights to Cable.

There are many possibilities they can go with.

I just hope they don't wimp out on the darkness and despair of the future. I want to see M's tattooed on almost everybody's faces.

Just finished the second issue. I love having the present day X-Men fighting with the Brotherhood in Washington, while simultaneously the future X-Men are fighting Sentinels. Hope that ends up being the climax of the film, and if Avalanche can be added to the Brotherhood, even better...

I can see them have Mystique be the one trying to kill the target like
Destiny was.Obviously If they do Xavier mind swipping himself one of X-Men
will have to stop the assassination.Maybe Beast.

Doing back and forth between past and future Is way to Invole actors from
earlier films and allows plenty of footage that can be used In trailers and
TV spots.Cutting between past and future for climax would be very ambitas.

Most certainly. And that would definitely be "ambitious" as they keep saying.

Wasn't like that in the comic. That was in Bishop's future. Unless they decide to merge stories.

I think people need to get 1990's version out of their minds. My feeling Is this will be
cross of original story and new elements.

Yeah I know, but I suggest they DO merge things somewhat as all comic book adaptations do. I re-read the first issue of DOFP just yesterday too and wondered why exactly they would wear clothes with M's on them? And I said to myself, well this is obviously before they came up with the tattoo idea. It's pretty sick, I love it.

Yes but you want to make sure audences can reconize the returning actors and not try to hide them behind tatoos.

They can make them more subtle. It really will resonate with Magneto's numbers. Also not everyone should have them. I mean, Wolverine especially not.

They can't have them all be like In Art thread of the prisoners all being bald with M tatoos.Wolverine won't have them since he wasn't In Internment camp.He rescured them.

Unlike the comic one change I see them defently doing Is a more action packed escape from Internment camp.

Yeah, an aspect that I like is how they hint at Magneto distracting the Sentinels while they escape. That's something that I'd hope theyd actually SHOW. It would be kick ass to see McKellen VS Sentinels as somewhat of his final scene in this franchise.

the future sequences have so much potential, that Im really afraid it will dissapoint many fans, because it wont be enough for all of us, since the movie will have two sets, not only one, set in the future.

The x-men from Original trilogy + a Future set could be amazing for a full movie, or even two, so this sequel could easily left many fans kind of dissapointed with both casts and sets

:(

something like this should have been kept for a possible way to finish the franchise with both casts.

It would be a big event, divided in two movies, like Harry potter, the hobbit and other movies.

Two more sequels with only the First Class cast more Days of future past pt 1 and Days of f... pt 2.

PERFECT way to finish the franchise, once they start moving to other actors, on 2020 or so.

I disagree. There's not a vast amount of story in DOFP, I don't see the point in stretching it beyond one movie.

The future should provide some great visuals and action, but beyond establishing the stakes and sending a character back, there's not a lot to it.

Well you have to consider the amount of cast members that may be in this flick. It could be really really huge and not containable in one movie.

Let's say the cast of characters looked something like this:

60s characters

Xavier
Havok
Banshee
Beast
New X-Man
MacTaggert
Magneto
Mystique
Azazel
Emma Frost
Riptide
Angel Salvadore
Assassinated politician

Future characters
Xavier
Magneto
Wolverine
Storm
Kitty
Beast

That's 19 characters (including future counterparts), which is quite a lot, but if the movie is given a longer running time, perhaps 150-160 minutes, and every character is shown to serve a purpose to the story, then the story can be contained within one movie, even with such a large cast.

I'd get rid of these. And probably swipe out Beast and Kitty for other characters that could maybe better service the story.

There's also this weird notion on SHH (thats been going on for years) that the amount of characters should dictate the run time of a film. In reality the story dictates length, and characters simply need to service the story.

I agree about Riptide and Angel Salvadore. I was going to put the characters that I didn't think would return in parentheses, but I wanted a more decisive number of characters.

I doubt Matthew gets rid of Angel and Riptide without any explanation, and at the same time, I doubt he'll explain it.... he probably wants a pretty decent brotherhood, so I doubt he leave them out to introduce new members again, with such a big plot like this.

Large cast =/= longer run time.

Again, unless it's greatly expanded, the future sequences have very little plot and could well occupy as little of the film as the future sequences in the Terminator series. The bulk of the film will likely take place in the First Class timeframe, which will have plenty of time to kill with all the key players established.

if Fox gets Hugh, Halle and someone more back, I highly doubt they only appear during 5 minutes on the movie.

They will use them for more than one scene, and Im afraid they'll even use Hugh in another one, we all know how they love him and the character.

The future sequences dont neccesary have to be as short as some think.

there should be a decent ballance, to tell a good story, both sides of the story, in fact, so it just deppend on what Matthew, Jane and Simon are more interested in: the character and plots on the past, or the future reality.

dear GOD please i don't want characters thrown in just for the sake of throwing them in and then they do nothing.

i definitely don't want any NEW made up characters or characters that don't belong in there showing up.

Well like I said the future sequences could be expanded, but I don't see the point of a multi-film arc being made out of a 1-issue plot. There's plenty of room in a 2 hour film for this story.
