He was barely in it and I thought Hensleigh's draft really missed the point.I don't think Franks cries in this,but if he does the man lost his wife and two kids, give him a break.He is not the old heartless killer from the MAX just yet,this only year 6 and he still has some emotions left in him.That's why the movie is called WarZone,Frank is at war with crime and his self.Soon those feelings will be gone.Plus didn't Frank cry or trying to cry at the end of the 04 film

I liked scenes that show emotion in the 04 film,my favorite being the scene between Frank and Jimmy Week now that was good. I can't believe people complained.

And I'm going by Hensleigh's script being a sequel, and by the end of the 2004 film Frank Castle was dead, and the fact that he became more cold and callous after years of going around and killing people seemed like the logical evolution for the character.

The Lexi script seemed to want to make him more into a hero rather than a ruthless vigilante with sociopathic tendencies.

Lexi draft made him cold and callous too,he only opens up when he felt guilty about turning wife into a widow and making a child fatherless.And I never got the hero thing from Lexi draft.He only rescues mother and child,it's not like he's running around saving everybody.Judging by Lexi's draft and the red band trailer,he is a ruthless vigilante with sociopathic tendencies.Who kills bad guys in brutal and sadistic ways

He got whacked with a toilet, that's about as ridiculous as the fight got. Regardless the intent of the fight was to play it more for a laugh, and it succeeded, and was pretty brutal in it's own right.

And it's comic, Frank could shove a guys head up his own ass (I'm talking about the guys ass, not Franks). Doesn't mean you have to try to replicate it for the film. It's one thing seeing the violence on the page and another to see it in motion, and in motion it looks pretty cheesy.

I'd also love to hear more on that because I think that's interesting. Always wondered how they've shown Frank has gone too far. Sorry I'm just so amazed by the violence that the part of me that's craving the storyline is going mad with no knowledge of what will happen lol

I've always thought the 2004 version for the most part kept things pretty realistic. That goes for acting, production values, lighting, ect. There wasn't anything particular over the top about that film at all accept maybe for some violent moments, but even then it wasn't that bad.

Now War Zone on the other hand is over the top in every way. It relishes in the comic book world. Which is fine, because that's what it's derived from so why not? It looks like a MAX book when I watch the trailers. Stevenson looks great as Frank, more so than Jane. The violence over the top and stylized. All these things aren't bad and could make for fun and entertaining movie. Which again is fine. If that's what you're looking for you're probably going to get it.

But I'm with Grundy on this one. I really don't want an entertaining movie here. I'm want a Punisher movie that makes me feel like I'm in the hands of a madman. A cold and depressing experience. Think Get Carter (the Micheal Caine version) meets Seven. But this will never happen. We came close with the first film, but it wasn't meant to be. And I'm not *****ing either. I'm voicing an opinion that I think is sound among a small group of other fans.

Also don't worry I will support War Zone regardless of my feelings. I don't boycott movies that contain characters that I love and cherish. It's going to have some really good things in it I know that much.

Yeah, I'd agree with you and compare her version to Rambo, but that would be parts 2 and 3. Those movies had a very silly, action vibe to them. This isn't the Rambo from First Blood and it's nowhere near the John Rambo from the 4th film. If it were we'd have a very different film on our hands.

Honestly, I think Warzone fits in the tone of those Rambo sequels I mentioned. It pretty much looks like fun, popcorn fluff. Not what I really from a Punisher sequel, but like I said I'll give a chance.

Punisher's been around long enough to be anything they want him to be. Unhinged psychopathic murderer barely clinging to humanity, or a dark, brooding hero determined to protect the innocent, in the way he couldn't protect his own family. Personally, I like him the second way better.

See I like it when isn't out trying to protect people, just him doing the job he thinks he has to. And along the line if he's out or on a job and someone needs, he would help the person. It's Frank just being in the right place at the right time, someone is getting raped and Frank happens to walk by, BANG! He moves on.
