Not Morpheus, he was offered the role of The Architech in Reloaded and Revolutions.
He was also offered the role of Dumbledore in Harry Potter.

Its funny, after Potter and Rings were huge successes, Connery was quoted as saying he took LXG as to not make the same mistake he did by turning down Potter and Rings. If only he knew he made an entirely different kind of mistake.

Actually he was offerend both roles.

He was considered by the studio for the role of Morpheus but couldn't understand the script. Afterwards other actors who were close to being cast were Val Kilmer as Morpheus

And after The Matrix , he was again under consideration for the role of the architect but again turned down the role.

As far as i know Keanu signed a 30 million or 30 % gross deal both movies , which ever was greater.

Going on reloaded and revolutions alone , i think he was set to earn 238.5 million

so, it was the role of Gandalf that he was offered in the lord of the rings, I kinda figured it was that role, that he was talking about, but,was wondering about that for alil while, ever since I heard in an interview with him where he said, that he was connected about a role in the LOR's, he said something about not being able to get in to the fantasy type roles, and that he didn’t really under stand the storyline

Him as Gandalf.....would have been interesting.

But, obviously.....the man doesn't need the money. So, it being 400 million or whatever seems to not mean much b/c the man is already living a comfortable life. Dude is mother****ing James Bond.....
