Daredevil Season 3 Confirmed!

Hell yes! I was waiting for this news. It's gotta have Bullseye. :hmr:

Season 3!

Saw this coming. So probably after Defenders? or inbetween Defenders and Iron Fist? I'd prefer this for 2017. Luke is coming September this year anyways.

-Early 2017: Iron Fist
-Mid 2017: Daredevil Season 3
-Late 2017: Defenders

The again Punisher is also happening so that could fill up the Mid 2017 gap as well. What would you guys like?

I don't think we're getting this until 2018.

2017
Iron Fist
The Punisher
Defenders

2018
Daredevil season 3
Jessica Jones season 2

Sweet! Loved the first two seasons. The other Netflix Marvel shows will keep me busy until then.

Punisher is going to be after Defenders.

Luke Cage - September 2016
Iron Fist - February-March 2017
The Defenders - Summer/Early Fall

And then it'll probably go:
Jessica Jones
Punisher
Daredevil

But I'd prefer Daredevil before Punisher.

Yep. Jessica Jones is next to film after Defenders. That was already confirmed. I'm not sure if Puinisher or Daredevil will be next and there's also the question of whether or not Luke Cage or Iron Fist will get a second season.

And then there are the Moon Knight, Thunderbolts, Blade and Ghost Rider rumors. Thunderbolts and Ghost Rider are probably the longest off since we're already getting a different Ghost Rider on Agents of SHIELD and the only T-Bolts that are currently in the MCU are Zemo, Shocker, Blizzard and Mister Hyde. Until we get Atlas, Songbird, Moonstone, Scorpion, Joystick, Fixer and Abe Jenkins in the MCU (and possibly also Jolt), we aren't getting T-Bolts.

So assuming that Luke Cage and Iron Fist both do well enough to merit second seasons and Marvel also want to develop Blade and Moon Knight, that could push Daredevil Season 3 even further back. In a worst case scenario where Marvel stick to two a year, we might be waiting until late 2019 for Season 3 to hit.

It's highly unlikely Punisher makes 2017 if it only starts filming in 2017. It's 2018 at the earliest for Punisher.

The Thunderbolts, Moon Knight, Blade and Ghost Rider news was all fake. And even if it was a possible rumor, aversion of GR is being used on AoS so that kills his chance for a Netfix show.

Not to support Dasher10's usually extremely impossible and outrageous claims, but the fact that the Ghost Rider that AoS is using is Robbie Reyes (the least known) means the Marvel Studios higher-ups at least have some interest in Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch. Otherwise they wouldn't have held them back.

Or that it's cheaper for them to produce as they can just have fire on the car and not have to do a fire bike and skull and body while sticking to the smaller budget they have per episode. And the fact that they would never have two versions of a character in tv show when they have so many other characters who could lead a show.

That's like saying Marvel Studios has bigger plans for Mar-Vell and Genus-Vell down the line because they are using Carol Danvers instead of her predecessors.

I'm not saying they ever plan on pursuing a Ghost Rider tv show/movie, but the possibility is there. Look at when Steven Deknight wanted to use Night Nurse in Daredevil. The movie guys prevented him from doing so because they had plans for her (Rachel McAdams's character in Doctor Strange), so he had to change it to Claire Temple.

The movie division takes precedence and the tv division has to get the characters they use pre-approved before they can use them in order to make sure in doesn't conflict with the movies' plans or potential future options (you'll notice how most of the comic characters on Agents of SHIELD are either really minor ones or easily expendable, and the Inhuman royal family is never used in any of the show's Inhuman plotlines). That means Marvel could've prevented them from using Johnny Blaze or Danny Ketch. And while that doesn't mean there are any plans to use those other Ghost Riders, it doesn't mean the possibilty is over.

Let it be known that I believe Ghost Rider on Netflix is pretty unlikely and there are other characters that suit lead roles better. But hypothetically, let's say the movies want to use Ghost Rider. They'll want to have that option of Blaze or Ketch available (and the last thing the movies will ever do is be constrained by something Agents of SHIELD does).

That's a completely different situation because that's not across different divisions of Marvel Entertainment.

And regarding Mar-Vell, chances are likely that he's in Captain Marvel because Carol's story (particularily her origin) can't be told without him being there.

Or it could be because these are the current status quo versions of the characters, these are the ones they will use.

Its not like AoS could afford to do an actual Ghost Rider, anyway. 30 seconds of flaming skull would eat an entire episode's budget. That said, the same logic still also applies for Netflix, which is why the rumor really shouldn't be given credence.
