Supergirl Season Three: Tell them what ya want?

-The Legion of Superheroes are introduced and Mon-El eventually joins them.

I meant to put that on my list, totally agree. That way we can get a great set of characters debuting on the show which also leaves the door open for future episodes with Legion membera guest starring aswell as Kara possibly visiting the the future. Also this way, Mon El leaves the show as a regular (which in all honesty I'd be absolutely fine with) and could maybe pop back for a guest appearance in future seasons.

-Lena *not* turning evil

For me this is one aspect I think they've totally dropped the ball with. They teased us early on that she could turn, but then they blew it all in one episode where it seemed she sided with her Mother but actually didn't. Playing out the will she won't she turn aspects much like Tess on Smallville (although don't go quite as dark as that went at times) would have really helped the show. It also would be far more interesting than the episodes constant relationship dramas that somehow crop up each week yet are solved by each episodes end. Only to then be a new drama in the following one.

Maxwell Lord's return.

Yeah tbh I'd even take just a mention because it was utterly ridiculous how he suddenly just wasn't on the show anymore without even a mention.

It'd be cool if they brought in Maxima as well. I actually thought that her and Kara had an interesting dynamic in the New 52 comics.

THey brought her in during Season 1

And by no surprise didn't do her justice from what I can remember.

Wow! I completely forgot Maxima was even on the show.

When was she on the show and what did she do? I don't remember her seducing anyone.

I think she just had a little fight with Supergirl after she escaped briefly but I could be misremembering.

She was in Ep. 19 of Season 1. As she is fighting Supergirl she talks about wanting to make Superman her husband. Which grossed out Kara...lol

Oh yeah...I remember that scene now. :funny:

Also, to be fair, for as much as I love Smallville they didn't necessarily handle Maxima any better. The SG version just looks way more accurate.

I hope that Cat Grant prevents James Olsen from leaving Catco to be Guardian at night.

Guardian is one of season two's elements that most needs to be discarded.

If Mehcad Brooks is not James AND Guardian next season I will be extremely surprised, as in probably the biggest surprise that might happen. Another big surprise would be if Maggie dies in the finale, and another surprise if Mon-el doesn't end up in the Phantom Zone.

Those would be the surprises that I have heard, not even going into the surprises that we don't see coming, those that Melissa apologized for.....*trembling lips*

Three act structure for the season

Part One
Secret Society of Super Villains

Kara takes on The Ultra-Humanite, The Shade, Cheshire, Goldface, Blockbuster, and The Floronic Man.

Part Two
Infinity, Inc.

Based off the 52 comic storyline using the "Everyman Project". Lena Luthor forms a team of super heroes.

Part Three
Gog

The villain Gog travels from Earth to Earth killing the Supergirl of that world to stop her from causing Armageddon. This would be the cross over with Arrow, Flash, and LoT. Also introduce Powergirl.

Two is the perfect amount 3 and you are rushing an arc as well as burning through story ideas too fast. Basically take the Gotham formula for a standard episode:
A-Plot - Single episode arc (or if the A plot is focused on the half season arc then it presents a small part of the riddle they solve and/or discover that helps them move forward in resolving the overall arc).
B-Plot - Introducing and setting up elements of the next 3 episode mini-arc which will normally become the a-plot for the next 1 to 2 episodes and can involve the half season arc.
C-Plot - If the half season arc is not the a-plot or the B-plot then small hints are put into this arc for the next few episode.

Put this on two season arcs separated by the midseason break and that will make a winning product (assuming the writing and characters are good).

Also to add to my wish for Captain Atom to brought in, I'd also like for John Henry Irons and Major Force/Clifford Zmeck to be brought in. Irons as the main engineer in charge of developing Captain Atom and Major Force, and Zmeck being the Atom's psychopathic partner.

Using the introduction of Irons I'd like at somepoint (maybe in season 4 or 5 as a season premier 2-parter or mid-season finale 2-parter) for them to tackle the death and return of Superman (although it would be interesting if he stayed dead and Kara just had to take up his role as the premier hero of earth) which would introduce (or maybe just work off of previous setup of) Superboy.

The fact that I forgot that she was even on this show before is proof of that. Heck they could have at least had her try and seduce Kara or something.

I also agree that we need at least a mention of Maxwell Lord and what happened to him. It's ridiculous that he just dropped out of the show without a mention even, especially since he's one of the people who knows that Kara is SG (which they conveniently forgot/ignored in the episode where they were listing all of the people who knew Kara's secret ID).

Sam and Lucy Lane suffered much the same fate for that matter.

Eh, she made it clear that Maxima had a thing for Superman.

Would love to see Jesse Graff get an actual character to recur.

I still don't remember the Maxima episode.

Maxima didn't have an episode. She was just a named prisoner at the DEO, who almost escaped. The implication is, she was a Superman villain.

I think Supergirl needs a rival. She doesnt really have a strong arch-nemesis but it would be good if they gave her one

I'd also love to see Power Girl

Should Power Girl be played by a different actress or Melissa?

Imo, different actress who looks close to Melissa since she is a different Earth version of the character but not a direct copy.

I too would prefer a different actress. Someone Melissa could have some fun banter with.

What I really want for season three is for all shippers to take a flying leap off a cliff somewhere and stop taking over the damn twitter .

You want the show to die Kelly? :o

Hmm, the problem with "rival" is that, if they are meant to be a foil. . . well, the best foil they have is already here: Lena. You'd almost have to have the rivalry be more hostile, unless its a friendly rivalry with Lena Luthor, Powered Armor Heroine. Which I'd totally approve of, but its really its own thing.

I think what they could use is a villainous rival who is able to be present throughout the season, as a constant recurring nemesis. . . but one who is neither too evil to actually have character interaction, nor too powerful to be a threat that utterly upends the narrative. Maybe some kind of superpowered vigilante who is over the line into villainous behavior, but not *too* far, so the context is "Deal with the Threat of the Day first", not "All hands on deck to stop the horrible psycho monster".
