Senator Obama for president what's your opinion?

Will you vote for Obama

  • I'll vote to nominate him

  • I'll vote for him if he wins the nomination, but not to nominate him

  • undecided on who to nominate

  • wont vote for him either way

Results are only viewable after voting.
I am not a big prochoice person, but I am willing to forgive that if he can make some real change around here. What good has it done to have an Evangelical President when all he has done is make the poor poorer and start a war we did not need? Time for some new blood if you ask me. Another reason why I would take Obama over Hillary Clinton.

I like him but I think it's too soon to run. Inexperience will be his undoing.

isn't he a little too inexperienced?

edit: Thanks for saying what I said before I said it KingofDreams. Gawd!:whatever:

*cough* kennedy *cough*
Seriously, considering the fool we have in place now it's insane to question if he's ready or not

yeah, it's not like it could get much worse. :(

whats wrong with being prochoice??

to the lamen(sp) do you not think the name would deter them alittle???

and i find it sad that people not registered for a certain party cant vote in the primaries... i think that would make the presidential race more even if repubs could have a candidate more suited to thier ideals and vice versa they may be willing to swing their votes come election time

Sorry I don't go with the latest "fad" in Presidential nominations.
Yeah that's not like voting for someone simply because he's the son of a past president.

His full name is Barack Hussein Obama. Might as well throw Hetlur on there for good measure.

Political experience doesn't neccesarily make a good politician.

And I can't put my finger on what, but there's something shady about Obama.

So the only policy that matters is wether or not he is blindly against abortion or for the rights of women to choose what they do with their own bodies? That is the only thing that matters in this world? Not the fact that approximately 46 million Americans, or 15.7 percent of the population, are without health insurance? Not the fact that the gap between the rich and the poor is widening while the middle class is fading? That the executive branch has positioned itself above the other two branches of government? That the government has become a religious theocracy rather than a secular democracy? But no, the only thing that matters is his stance on abortion.:whatever:

1. Yes, decent people should be against abortion IMO.:)

2. It should not be the government's job to provide health insurance.:)

3. The poor and middle class should work harder if they don't like their situation.:)

4. Name one administration that hasn't tried to do this. If I recall FDR wanted to extend the number on the supreme court so he could nominate people who fit his agenda.:)

5. The government is not a religious theocracy, if you believe that you need a dictionary. BTW, the government wasn't set up to be a democracy, it was intended to be a republic. The founding fathers hated democracy.:)

6. I only vote for Pro-Life canidates. Sorry you don't like that.:)

Yeah, way to bring an example that has nothing to do with me. Good job!

How does abortion affect me, a single guy with no kids?

I'm pro choice during the embryonic stage. Once it becomes a fetus I'm completely against it.

Wrongorino

As a proud American I believe in certain economic standards for America. We have an economy here. Rich people want to participate in this process so they can get richer. We don't just give economic opportunity to those who are rich enough to get richer. We take care of our Americans. We don't only protect them from terrorists. We protect them from poverty, diabetes etc. We guide society's development. Poverty has a horrible effect on the social evolution of our soceity. And it's not fair to the children. What did that poverish five year old do to deserve to be ignored by society? Yeah conservatives say "If your making minimum wage don't have kids" But try telling that to the kid. He or she didn't do anything wrong. It's not their fault.

yes that is politics.

5. The government is not a religious theocracy,

for the moment. hopefully it stays that way. not everybody wants it to.

BTW, the government wasn't set up to be a democracy, it was intended to be a republic. The founding fathers hated democracy.:)
That's relevant how? The founding fathers treated women like ****, enslaved blacks, and slaughtered Indidans. They aren't the best role models, and were allowed to disagree with them. Just because they intended for it te be a republic, doesn't mean it should be a republic.

6. I only vote for Pro-Life canidates. Sorry you don't like that.:)

that's because you've been suckered. How many abortions did Bush stop? They don't have the power to stop it.

Yes we do have an economy. And there are countless examples of people who through hard work, determination, and persistence were able to become wealthy.

Is it too much to ask of people to actually show up to work and do their jobs even though they may be **** jobs? Perhaps if they actually do their job they can find a better job, and their boss can give a positive recommendation based on their work performance.

this is a perfect example of the victim of society argument. society wants to ignore those in need and then wonder why people grow up the way they grow up.

1. That's your view and I agree to disagree.

2. Could you please show me in the constitution where it says that?

3. All you have to do is replace the word America with USSR and there you have Lennon's mission statement.

4. okay

5. I share you concerns.

6. It states it should be a republic in the constitution. If it is the will of the people for it to change (which would involve giving up atleast 3 branches of the govt.) then it should be done so correctly through the ammendment process.

7. If I recall one of Bush's first acts was to repeal the Mexico City law. So some good has been done, although not enough IMO. As for the politicians who are lying to get elected, well honestly that's not my concern, it's theirs and will have to answer for it on Judgement Day IMO. An example would be Bush and his campaign promise of no nation building.

An extremely large hunk of the jobs available are the crappy jobs. there are only so many good jobs available in our economy.

even if every person had straight A's and worked their ass off at their jobs, the number of people in each industry would be exactly the same as it is now. supply and demand. Unless all the crappy jobs are replaced by robots and the avaiilability of all the good jobs quadrouples nothing's going to change.
