Sensational>Amazing=Friendly>Ultimate(Ultimate sucks, not really, but I dislike it. I hate forever young Parker)

I chose Sensational Spider-Man as the superior Spider-Man book this past year. Ever since Sacasa has taken over the writing duties when it turned into Sensational it's been a great ride. Continuity. Solid characterization. Great stories. My only complaint about Sensational is that it didn't really have a consistent artist on the book. Medina was sort of here and there. If Medina would have been solid through the run it might get even MORE props.

Amazing is great right now but Sensational is just hitting my Spidey needs meter much better. And I was really having trouble adjusting to Garney's artwork but in the past few issues Garney really seems like he's stepping it up and I'm actually enjoying him on the book.

Friendly Neighborhood I'm enjoying very much, as well...and my postive note about this title is how Peter David has reincorporated Peter's classic supporting cast back into the title. Betty Brant. Flash Thompson. The Bugle. It's great seeing all of that again.

Ultimate is hit and miss anymore. The Ultimate Clone Saga was a bust but the Ultimate Knights arc, which just wrapped up this week, was freakin' awesome. So, Bendis should just stick to writing street level heroes and The Kingpin, heh.

I read all the Spider titles except Ultimate, as I never could get into the whole "Ultimate Marvel Universe." I love SSM and FNSM right now. SSM has told some really great stories, and as someone else mentioned, FNSM concentrates hard on Peter's relationship with people like Flash and JJJ/Robbie. ASM is actually starting to interest me again. I can't wait until JMS leaves, and the decision to ship it 3 times a month could also benefit the book, at the expense of the other titles.

I had no idea that there was this much hate towards Ultimate's Clone saga, I thought it was well done and I enjoyed it.

UUuuuummm... That was a joke, Identity Crisis?

Mate, you don't need to give me an explanation either. If you bothered to actually read, my next line was

Ugh. I don't know why I try sometimes...
Must've missed that. My bad. I didn't know what you meant by that though, because by the time I picked up that title I think clone saga was over. So yeah. Joke went over my head.

Same here, I enjoyed it. Probably top five arcs for the series so far for me. Then again, I'm a USM nut so....:oldrazz:

Yea, for the most part every issue had a HOLY **** moment that paid off fairly well at the end. Usually Bendis has problems wrapping stories up but I thought he did an awesome job with it.

1.Amazing Spider-man.
2.Sensational Spider-man.
3. Freindly neghborhood Spider-man.

Amazing has always been the best for me, but lately Sensational's writing and art have given them a slight lead over them. I've never really read Friendly Neighborhood and Ultimate switches so much stuff up (I'm so used to the continuity of the "original" Spider-Man) for me that I'm not even interested.

Amazing, Sensational, Friendly, Ultimate (rated in that order as whole titles)

Sensational is the best title, some say FNSM is, but I think the arcs on that title have just got goofier as time has passed. As for ASM, what we have there is a writer and editorial who just dont 'get' Spider-Man. As a result PP is constantly written out of character and the arcs contained are illogical and dumb.

Sensational is the title w/ a writer who cares about Spider-Man and the whole mythos AND- who crucially knows how to write Spidey's world and adventures in the correct context so that it all meshes together satisfyingly. Yeah, the constantly rotating artists on the book has sometimes proved a little jarring, but ultimately I reckon the book has also been host to the best Spidey art since the Dodson's left a few years back.

In my eyes that's the only good thing ASM has got going- the solid pencil position filled by Garney. Like others I'm pretty tired of the constant killing off of Spider-titles in their infancy only to be replaced 6 months later by yet another meaningless issue 1. I think for the first time ever.. I might actually not be suckered into that one next time, Il just skip on the next new Spider title... 'cause I know it will get canned after 2-3 years.

I think the 3xASM per month move won't last any longer than 1 year tops, then who knows- another new book will likely get announced. ugh..
It would be best if they just let FNSM and Sensational live, then perhaps they would come into their own, oh well....

Ok Spidey in a tree is just funny stuff :D

I can't seem to make a new post, looking for help from u spidey fans!!!! I want to get my 9 year old nephew a set of spidey books, like a complete story but I haven't read the series and don't know what is age appropriate.

Any help through pm's would be great, I don't want to jack this thread ;) thank you so much!!!!!

Thank you Ray-Fu! My nephew is now a web head for at least a year, and hopefully many to follow!!! :spidey:

ASM # 542 The Kingpin gets the ***** slappin' of his life.Peter rules

Lol yeah he did get his butt kicked...badly.

1. Friendly Neighborhood
2. Amazing
3. Ultimate
4. Sensational

I like Friendly Neighborhood more because, I like the supporting cast and I liked the fact how Peter David brought those supporting cast back into Peter's life, Betty Brant, Flash Thompson, etc.
