I think this would be great for a future sequel idea.
The Plot
Superman looks at the world and starts to question if he should stay there, as all the hard work he does seems to be to no avail. For all his good, everyone else continues to be bad and superman decides in a final stand to start doing what his father said he shouldn't, which was to interfere in human matters. He decides that the third world is in a terrible state and that this needs to be reseolved and one plot line would have a war between america and a small iraq stile country coming up with superman urging people to stand against it. These actions would force the western governments to stand against him and declare him an enemy of the world andf try to kill him.
One great scene would be Superman catching bombs and missiles being hurled at poor underveloped countries by western powers and stopping people from irrationally killing each other.
Another great scene would be this; clark is drinking a cup of coffee from some expseneive chain and sees on the bottom of the cup it says made in china or something like that and so he flys out to the very place it was made and sees children in the factory in horrendous conditions.
In the end of the film Superman wins over the people and shows them that it is they who have the power to shape the world together if they want to and think it's worth doing so that the greedy criminals and murderes at the top don't get their ways resulting in constant death of those who are powerless alone.
The war would be dropped by the end of the film and the powers, great and small, would be forced by the poeple to talk about how a much fairer distribution of wealth might be possible and how muclear weapons etc can be destroyed.
It would be the last film in the seeries, though it would never be done, as it more or less goes against everything that a big hollywood corporation stands for, but i think it would make a great superman film. certainly I'd like to see some kind of message like this in a future film. I think that coffee cup thing would make a great scene.
