Seth Rogen Co-Starring and Producing "I'm With Cancer."

Also planning to check this one out pretty soon, can't wait.

I hear it's more drama than comedy , sounds really good, I can't wait to see it this weekend.

Checking this out tomorrow, reviews are saying JGL is excellent. It's a comedy, but may very well have some Oscar buzz.

Yeah, quite a few critics are saying he deserves Oscar cred for his performance. I saw the movie earlier today and he is pretty phenomenal in it.

Good movie.

The whole cast was good. Just the right amount of Seth Rogen. JGL is really good, I wouldn't say oscar worthy (but there are a couple really good scenes where you can see why his performance might be). The arcs are predictable but executed well.

I liked the heavier second half more than the lighter first half. They could have done a little more with JGL's dad in the movie. Would have liked more Philip Baker Hall and a little more Anna Kendrick.

7/10

I think everyone would like a little more Anna Kendrick.;)

absolutely fantastic. JGL might be the best (and underestimated) actor of our generation. He was just spot on in every scene.

It was highly predictable, but it wasn't in your face. I think probably the best thing about this movie is that it let you feel sorry for everyone on your own terms instead of shoving it in your face like a lifetime movie.

I most certainly would. Also , Bryce is incredibly gorgeous.

This was really good. I can see JGL getting a nomination.

I loved this.

About 5 times did I almost lose it, JGL once again proves why he's awesome.

How about that trimmer, huh guys? :awesome:

This was fantastic. I hope Joe nabs a few nods for this because he was amazing.

I found it to be very boring and dry. The humor was virtually non existent and I didn't care much for the main character's turmoil. The bright spot is Seth Rogen's character but he is not enough to save a dull film. Its not a terrible movie but its certainly not a good one in my eyes....very forgettable. I guess you can't always agree with rottentomatoes :o

Obvious critic is obvious...

I loved the film. JGL was fantastic.

Based on the trailers you'd think Seth Rogen is playing his typical character but people have been telling me they do more with that than usual.

Saw the movie today really good personal fav and JGL was at his best
and Rogen was good in the funny friend role.

9.9/10 - And only that low because of a continuity mistake that MIGHT have been present. This is by far my favourite film now.

That one scene
When JGL finds that Seth's character has actually been reading the "dealing with a friend with cancer" book, seemed straight out of that earthquake scene in Knocked Up, when Heigl sees that Rogen is actually reading the pregnancy books.

Saw this yesterday. Have to say it was even better than I expected it to be. Great film, with a lot of heart, and a real lack of the overdramatic malarkey that we usually see in 'cancer' films. Loved it.

9/10

And people are right, Rogen somewhat plays his usual stoner character, but dialed back to a huge extent, making his character of Kyle something real and not an exaggeration or caricature.

Opinions are opinions but

he also cited seth rogan as a bright spot .

Yeah. Nobody ever finds the hilarious best friend to be their favorite part.:dry::dry:

Still haven't seen it, but this thread is overdo for a title change, no?
Seriously, the movie has a 93% on rottentomatoes and most people on here seem to AGREE with you guys that it is a good movie. Does it matter if one person happens to not like it? Does everybody have to agree to like and dislike the same things on the internet?:dry::dry::dry::dry:(ad naseum)

50/50 is not the first and likely wont be the last dramedy that mixes moments of humor and sadness in a story of a a person battling a life threatening disease.
This was attempted in 2009's so-so film Funny People, and then there's the excellent
Showtime series The Big C.
Writer Will Reiser's own personal battle with cancer on which the film is loosely based
inspired 50/50 which is so truthful about the coldness and oblivious manner of some
doctors, the people that stand by a person suffering from the disease and those that are to selfish to do so.
Joseph Gordon-Levitt is excellent as Adam who is completely thrown when he is diagnosed ,but tries his best to be optimistic.Seth Rogen is great as best friend and co-worker Kyle.Yes his use cancer to get laid plan is crass, but he is caring.
Adam's girlfriend, Rachael (Bryce Dallas Howard) may not be as dependable.
Then you have Adams doting mother Diane (Angelica Huston) Her feelings and love for him are proof that we will always be someone's child no matter how old we get.
Some of the best scenes in the film are between Levitt and Anna Kendrick as his young, and inexperienced psychologist Katherine. There is an uneasy attraction between the two but neither want to cross the doctor patient line but how it plays out is one of the joys of the film.
Philip Baker Hall and Matt Frewer are also good as fellow cancer patients.
The films last 25 minutes are some of the most honest and true moments you are likely to see on the big screen this year. These moments moved me partially because of my own family history with cancer, and the fact that it is so well acted by everyone, and if you dont get a lump in your throat during these minutes, you just dont have a heart.
I was going to wait for 50/50 to hit cable, because of my aforementioned history with the disease and the heavy subject matter which is indeed heavy at times, but im so glad i didnt stay away.
Scale of 1-10 a 9

she actually saw that he hadn't been reading the books, just stuffed them in a cabinet.
