You're missing my argument entirely. I'm not arguing for the judge's position. I'm saying he shouldn't be in a prison anyway because hes mentally ill. He needs to be locked up in a mental health facility.

Theres no definable evil. There is NO act that can be called just "evil" and not some other adjective, such as "selfish", "cruel", "inconsiderate" etc.

Evil is a blanket term for negative ideas and acts that is rooted in religious concepts.

See, but if you don't believe prisons rehabiitate, then the logical function would be prisons punish. If that is the case, then anything that happens in prison would be part of the punishment. I advocate the reform of prisons. The inmates' lives should be protected and their humanity should be respected. The guards should do their jobs. Prisoners should be given a true chance at rehabilitation. Then, as I've said, if they can't be rehabilitated, keep them in the system forever and away from society where they could harm more people.

If prisons were safe for inmates, then this man's height wouldn't matter. But they aren't safe. The prison system is corrupt and backwards, but society doesn't care because most people feel that inmates deserve to suffer. And thus things stay the same.

It really depends on the prison...in Nebraska there is no excuse, we have some of the nicest/safest prison facilities in the nation.
