SF to become Gotham for Make-A-Wish

This is awesome.

It has to be one of the best stories. Lovely how a lot of people got involved and showed their support. First and foremost to make it happen. And on the day itself, getting into the spirit 100 per cent. Having fun with him. Even better, the young boy is on the road to recovery, in remission.

Are you sure his lack of gloves doesn't bother you? :oldrazz:

Just kidding. Indeed, you hit the nail on the head regarding what the event was about. Having fun and letting a kid live out his favorite fantasy. Mind-boggling that there are people who would complain about such petty, irrelevant, inconsequential details.

First, why is he called "Batkid"? It's like they printed out signs waiting for this to happen, and it happened to be a boy. Why not Batboy? Is that trademarked by the cult musical?

Second, this is touching. It does help restore some faith in humanity.

Third, not faith in humanity as artists. Given that an entire city was involved...the production values on this kind of suck. They couldn't spring for a quasi legitimate Batsuit for Batman? For gloves for Batkid? Leggings for his costume? Boots? I mean, the kid has custom made body armor, gauntlets and a cowl. They couldn't give him gloves? Did they blow the budget on the Batmobile's decal or something?

My only comment on the creative execution of the event was that the kid's chaperone should have been dressed up as Nightwing, Robin or even Alfred, not as Batman.

There is only ONE Batman dammit! Let the kid be the only Batman that day! :woot:

but let's be real here, you likely are not on Broadway)
I dont know.. but i gotta say. that is the FUNNIEST &^%$ I have read on here in the longest of time!! HAHAHAHAHAHAH!
Gloves and boots??? "We dont need no stinkin gloves or boots!!"
maybe the kid didnt want those! running around with that might have been too much cause the kid has a.. LIFE THREATENING DISEASE!!i know dressing up and everybody doing the batman thing is cool and all but there's that little matter! i am sure batkid would trade in his gloves and boots not to have that!
Sheesh! "talk about you cant please some of the people some of the time..."
just my 2 cents but turning San Fran into Gotham for him even without the aesthetic boots and gloves is the most EPIC OF COOLNESS EVER!

I was soo proud of my city for this

hooray for batkid
