Shazam!!!

That is kind of weird. Maybe they were afraid people would think the wizard is the centerpiece since the character is actually called Captain Marvel.

Maybe it's because that movie with Shaquille O'Neil, about a genius in the bottle.

The name was Shazzam.

^I remember unfortunately. :csad: btw It wasn't SHAZAM it was KAZAM.

"Billy Batson and the Legend of Shazam."

I for one love the new title. :woot:

I just hope we don't get too many Harry Potter comparisons with that title.

Does this new title force them to name every sequel "Billy Batson and the.."?

Love it. Love it.

Also - I think Brandon Molale has no shot

Honestly - Brendon Fraiser IS "Someone who can be heroic, but still convey the fact that he’s really 13 years old."

John August has a more than decent track record, so this film should be safe. Can't wait for Segal's version of the costume!

And Stormin' - I'm sorry, but I don't think Brendan Fraiser has a shot for Captain Marvel. At least, I can't picture him as the character. Too goofy.

Yes, because heaven forbid we get a goofy 13 year old...

Brendan Fraser?

Oh, God, NO!

Keep Brandon Molale! PLEASE!

I don't know what kind of thirteen year old we'll end up getting, but not Brendan Fraiser for Shazam. I would never watch him as a superhero.

Maybe they should just cgi shazam as an older person of the person playing the 13 year old kid.

Brendan Fraiser is a great actor that could be a perfect Captain Marvel.

He can easily play the enthusiastic, some-what naive, exciting hero Captain Marvel needs to be. He is incredibly charismatic and would add great zest to the film.

Its a far better decision than simply picking a nothing actor just because he looks like the character.

I'm not sure who should actually do the part. I mean, its entirely possible that they might go with a complete no name. Then again, they could go with Brandon Molale, Brendan Fraiser, or someone else who's been pushed for the role.

And the reason I feel they'll probably go for a lesser known actor is because they can get him a bit cheaper, not to mention get big name actors in more supporting roles (a la Alec Guinness in Star Wars). So Ian Mackellen, Patrick Stewart, or Christopher Lee as the wizard would be my guess.

Any other suggestions for the old man SHAZAM?

And as for Freddy Freeman and Mary Marvel... I'm a bit iffy. I don't want to see Junior flying around in this one (they should save it for a sequel), and I don't want them to botch Mary either.

Well, maybe a little faith is in order :whatever:

I would have thought to hear news that this film is getting along because the strike is over..but is there new news?

On a side note, I believe DC announced a "Billy Batson and the Power of Shazam" all-ages comic in the coming future.

Did anyone read the treatment Jeff Smith gave to Shazam? That would be the way to do it.

I would like to see Sage Brocklebank in the role.
