Yeah Black Adam would be a cool route to go with the SHAZAM franchise, start it off with a Black Adam Trilogy first. Explore the whole rise and fall of B.A in the first two films, the third and finale film would be the introduction of Captain Marvel.

I got Mortal Kombat vs DC for Christmas. It's a pretty cool game. I'm really surprised DC was able to have him called "Captain Marvel" on the game. I guess Marvel didn't purchase licensing rights on video game characters.

I think the agreement is that the name 'Captain Marvel' can be used in direct reference to the character but can't be used in a titular manner (titles of books, media)

Also, if the rumored "Huge, Explosive DC Films announcement" that may or may not come out in January does in deed come and Shazam is not mentioned - this film will not be made within 10 years.

well it looks to have more steam then a few other properties at this time. Hex is probably in limbo now with no director, gl is the number 1 film likely to be shooting this coming yr, ga looks to be in limbo. So really gl looks to be going and maybe a slime chance of shazam to.

I don't think Hex is in limbo at all, I think Hex has a director and will be announced in January. I think Brolin choose the director.

Based on WB's trend of releasing a "comic" movie in Spring and then Summer I would expect something like:

09 Watchmen/No summer
'10 Hex/Green Lantern
'11 B-Name Property (Shazam?)/Batman 3

That to, sucks so much there. I hope watchmen can still come out in march and wb just forefits the profits made off of it to fox. Though that whole thing really should have been resolved before production even started. Though yes fox did have the rights in the 80s to do a film which they never ended up doing and wb finally did. So it totally sucks for wb.

yea both companies are at blame here. If fox believe they still had the rights to the property fox heads and wb heads should have talked and resolved this or done it as a joint production or something.

DC just can't use 'Captain Marvel' in a titular reference....as for the game, Cap is a wrecking ball once you get the hang of him....one of his moves is where he grabs the opponent and gives them the 'Shazam' lightning bolt...
