Cool I plan on buying that game this week, Do they do Cap any justice in the game?

He's awesome. One of my favs. His moves are pretty impressive.

DC just can't use 'Captain Marvel' in a titular reference....as for the game, Cap is a wrecking ball once you get the hang of him....one of his moves is where he grabs the opponent and gives them the 'Shazam' lightning bolt...

I love doing that move on Superman because it reminds me of the scene from Kingdom Come.:woot:

:wow: SWEET! He's the only character I plan on mastering. :cwink:

Hey, I may be late on this but I've just discovered that New Line have been absorbed into Warner Bros. No wonder SHAZAM has been M. I. A.
DAMN!!! :cmad: DAMN!!! DAMN!!! DAMN!!! :csad:

actually shazam isnt really mia it was announced not to long ago that since new line is apart of wb family now wb moved production of the film off of new line and brought it back to wb them selfs. Right now there just isnt alot of moment on the film because i believe the film's writer has been busy with other projects after the whole wga strike last yr and he got a buildup of work. Shazam is likely still going to happen when is the big question.

There's also the issue of the summit and WB's plan for their various DC properties (Superman, GL, etc included).

Apparantly, the New Year is when it gets announced. Yeah, where have I heard that before?

Yea i really hope we get some more news soon on what really went down on the summitt talks and what changes their are now between dc comics and wb getting their properties out there on film/tv/animation/etc......

Really? In Summit? I have got to get this issue. When does it come out?

This is old news Changeling. There was a summit between DC comics and WB, in order to sort out their plans with the various comic book adaptations being helmed by WB, about 6 months ago.

We're yet to hear what's come out of it, but I think it only applies to the movies, and has no impact on the direction of the comic books. Like I said, people are thinking the next month or two is when we'll start hearing things, particularly on GL, Batman 3, and possibly Superman. Shazam may also end up in there.

But it's all up in the air now, as far as I am aware.

OH! Nevermind! Now I feel very, very, stupid. I read it wrong. I read it as an issue of a magazine having a bunch of information about upcoming DC films. Wow, I feel dumb.

everyone has those moments changeling. Hopefully things have truly changed with dc and wb for the films. I think it will be also other mediums too like games/tv i remember seeing article before the summit was taking place that it was to help change dc in other mediums.

Well RIP shazam. I don't think this movie will ever come out in any form

how can batman get up after THAT?
stupid video games

To quote triplet from the Smallville board, Warner Bros. is run by idiots.

This is what I posted in the Talon:

Also, let me point out how much I loathe the "Dark Knight" excuse. What's that, you ask?

Well, apparently, the heads at WB feel that TDK raked in a billion dollars because it was "dark" and "edgy." What they fail to realize, however, is that TDK brought home the bacon because it was really good and respected the source material. It just so happens that the source material is "dark" (He is the "Dark" Knight after all).

A kid-friendly Shazam movie (John August's "Big with Super powers pitch is the most pitch-perfect pitch in the history of pitching, it deserves a Cy Young award) would've been a Harry Potter-like mega franchise for WB (Read Jeff Smith's revamp if you don't believe me) because it would have gotten at least one half of the Dark Knight formula right, it would've been respectful of the source material. And with Peter Segal directing and The Rock as Black Adam (a perfect casting choice), it had the potential to get the other half right too.

Ah well, another opportunity lost. If only it was possible for Marvel Studios to start doing DC movies...

you can't blame WB for wanting to make all their characters dark after TDK, its a pity TDK didn't come out before SM3 almost certainly if it had you would have seen a darker approach to the movie rather than the jazz dancing we ended up with.

Well, this news doesn't really come as a surprise. I hope Green Lantern gets off the ground, but WB will probably pull the plug on that too in favor of more bad Superman projects.

He's the G.D. Batman!
:yay:

As for Shazam! being scrapped. I expected no less from the Brother's Warner. I can't believe we are still here months later after the supposed "summit" with DC and still nothing.

I've all but given up on Superman, but can we at least get the announcement about GL?

I don't want them to start spitting out crap films, but it can't be this hard to put together a movie based on their properites (DC).

Another DC/WB project bites the dust. Doesn't surprize me. I expect any DC/WB project outside of of Batman and Superman to die on the side of the road at this point.

Don't get your hopes up for Flash, GL or WW DC fans. It will just mean more heartbreak.

To quote the Prez-Elect, um, Yes We Can!

My point is that WB learned exactly the wrong lesson from TDK's success. It didn't succeed just because it was dark, it was a billion dollar movie because it respected its source material. It was just a coincidence that the source material is "Dark". For "Shazam," making it into an "edgy, darker" movie betrays what the characters are about. Read Jeff Smith's "Monster Society of Evil." That's how Captain Marvel should be portrayed. (I've said it before, August's "Big with super powers" pitch is perfect.)

I just read the news.:csad: Ay, ay ,ay ,ay!!!!:facepalm I love The Dark Knight and I'm sure Watchmen wil be great, but what is it with Warner Bros. doing everything freakin' dark!! :cmad: Iron Man and Spider-Man, anyone?!! They weren't dark and they still managed to be good. I guess the outcome of Superman Returns has made them very uneasy.

I think its a case of ''to many cooks in the kitchen'' at W.B.

They better not screw me out of GL!:cmad: I mean losing Shazam is bad but not the end of the world (he's not one of my fav characters but it could have been entertaining) but it they ditch GL or dark it up i'm gonna go :bh:
