A She-Hulk movie was once attempted in 1989, but it was ultimately scrapped. New Line Studios casted Brigitte Nielsen as the jade giantess and even photographed her for a few pictures. Unfortunately, the photos didn't thrill financial backers. They did, however, generate much interest among fans.

Umm... No they didn't.

I fact I don't even recall seeing these images in any of Marvels magazines (any of the comics or Marvel Age) at the time.

The Archie Reunion comic and tv show got more attention.

Comics Scene (old-school heads represent!) had these photos..

I always wondered why they bothered to make the outfit green, instead of purple.. hello?!?

and I'm curious as to what the story would have been like anyway.. would they have used another actress for jennifer walters? ah well.. another example of the pre-Avi Arad dungeon that Marvel movie properties existed in back then...

I remember seeing that picture in Comics Scene magazine. They also had an awesome picture of Dolph Lundgren as the Punisher on the back of that issue. Comics Scene had some great articles.

And if I remember, I didn't think it was New Line Cinema, but New World Pictures

I seem to remember a still shot in one of those muscle mags of a female body builder being cast as She-Hulk....wasnt Bridgette, but someone else.

She was wearing the torn white hospital gown, like in She-Hulk vol. I #1...

I think the project got scrapped when Bixby got cancer.

There was also, believe it or not, plans for Iron Man to be the next Hulk team-up...i remember THAT info from one of Stan's Soapboxes from various Marvel comics from around that time (1988-1990)....

There was supposed to be a movie about the Hulk being cloned or something first, after that episode where he died, then the She-Hulk, then Iron Man....

Dont know if all this was only rumors, or what.

Because they didn't bother to give her green body paint.

She looks more like poison ivy than she hulk in those pics.

I don't think it would have done such a great job. As it was the first Hulk movie didn't do to well, how woulod a clone Hulk girl do? Though than agian I guess fan boys would be intrested if done right.

She-Hulk is Hulk's cousin, not a clone. I'd watch a tv series about her though.

Those pics are new to me. I mean, wow, Marvel really has been trying for decades. Makes me feel blessed to even have crap like Ghost Rider and Elektra.

Yeah, seen those promo shots before - and they're god awful.

Based on looks alone -I've always felt that Cory Everson was perfect to play Shulkie (just as Dolph circa '87 was perfect to play Thor);

I'd always prefer that they'd cast a lead with a bit of muscle on her as opposed to Neilsen who wasn't built at all - but rather was just taller than most women.

Back then when Marvel was putting guys like Thor and Daredevil in their made for tv movies, I as a teenager was loving it. I have those movies on DVD. When the Death of the Incredible Hulk bombed Marvel scrapped the She-Hulk and Iron Man appearances. Which was probably a good idea.
