I really can't think of anyone other War Machine/Jim Rhodes.

War-Machine almost goes without saying.... but it'll definitely be a tricky one to pull off. You have to make him seem unique enough that the audience won't just look at him as a gray Iron Man with shoulder launchers.... building the character up enough in the Iron Man movies will be important for this reason, to allow Rhodes' time to develop a big enough fanbase first before launching him off on his own.
