Shoes in the house?

I usually don't wear shoes in my apartment, especially now, since there's so much snow and my shoes are always wet. First thing I do is take them off now, if it's not wet out don't really care. Usually take my shoes off at people's houses, especially if they have carpeting. Can't even walk into my gf's place with shoes, but that's because she has a dog, that really likes to eat shoes.

There is no real set rule except if it's messy outside. If it's raining, muddy, snowy, anything that might track stuff on the carpet, then yes...they come off. The only other rule is no shoes on the furniture. If someone comes over and expects to lay out on the couch or something they take their shoes off first. Personally I always take my shoes off in my house, but will only take them off at other people's house if they ask. Again, I don't care what people do at my house as long as they aren't tracking stuff.

Same here. I don't like wearing them, plus in winter here, everyone's shoes are a mess and I clean the kitchen floor enough without people walking around with wet, dirty shoes.

well I mean yeah, if you're aware that you have crap on your shoes, or they have some whiteish carpeting, then I guess it's kinda obvious you would have to.
But I've only ever had hardwood floors, so it became habit to never take my shoes off

If I visit family, then I take my shoes off. Because it's natural to be comfortable around family.

As for my apartment, I wear boots. It's tricky to untie them while standing up, so I simply walk over to my sofa, sit down and then take them off., then put on my moccasins.

Regarding guests, I wouldn't know since I never invite anyone over.

Once I'm at home I usually slip into my,uh, slippers. But that's just me, I go to someone's hosue and leave my shoes on and vice-versa. The only shoes not allowed in my house are muddy ones, everything else is fine.

Personally, I can't stand wearing shoes, so I take them off straight away. It's up to the guest if they want to take theirs off, I wouldn't force them. Some people take them off as basic manners, some leave them on in case the sight of their stinky socks makes them feel queasy.

I take my boots off when I come in someone else's house. But all other shoes I don't take off, unless they ask.

We really dont have any rules in regards to shoes. I take my work shoes off when I get home because they have crud on the bottom or when its snowy out. Usually I dont wear shoes just because I'm more comfortable that way. People think its weird that I'm usually shoeless. No socks either. I was told once it made me look like a redneck.

Guests can do whatever they want.

I go barefooted most of the time but if I am having company, I put my shoes on and my guest can do whatever they want.
