I believe that this thread has a simple premise: Feel free to write as many short stories as you wish; must be only a post long(length of the post is inadequate).

I see this thread as being a huge help for people strongly interested in the wonderous craft of screenwriting, and I hope you yourself will find it of use. And once we get some short stories going here, I hope you enjoy them as well.

As for that, here's a little short story I've just thought of:

"Wonderful Attire" by 'thejon93'
EXT. CITY STREETS - NIGHT

"Strolling through the city two-by-two. Countin' my shoelaces, God knows how many loops there are. But God... do I love this city," William narrated, as he himself walked through the slick city streets of Downtown, Manhattan.

William suddenly caught sight of Sally from across the street.

"New York City, what a wonderful place to be," Sally narrated, as she then looked over at William.

Somehow, she caught him winking at her, where she continued walking, as she then did the same. William smiled pleasantly, as he then tipped his hat and walked into the restaurant at the corner of the street.

Continuing to look on in William's direction was Sally, as she walked out onto the road; unbeknownst that the traffic was against her. Suddenly, she then realized she was in danger, as she turned towards a vehicle that was just about to hit her; but suddenly slammed the brakes just in time.

The driver, Lou, poked his head out.

"You alright, ma'am?" Lou called out to a bewildered Sally.

"...Oh, yes," Sally finally came up with. "Just caught up in the wonderful sights of the city."

"Well, while we're on the subject of wonderful: What about that wonderful attire you have on, huh?" Lou called back to Sally, who blushed.

"Oh, thank you very much," Sally smiled, as she tipped her hat at Lou, who tipped his back at her, as she walked back safely onto the sidewalk.

:funny:

So cheesy, I love it.

Good idea for a thread. Also, Wonderful Attire was neat! I'll definitely contribute to this thread in the near future.

Good to hear, friend.

"Drive Into" by 'thejon93'
EXT. ROAD - NIGHT

Driving his mini van down the road, along the cliffside, was Ian; who kept up steady with the speed limit, posted along the long grassy-patches beside the road itself.

Ian, bored by the sound of silence, made the decision to turn on the radio. Flipping through the channels, he tried to find a station that was suitable to his tastes, but there was nothing that interested him. Ian then turned the radio back off, as he gripped the steering wheel; tightly, in frustration.

Down further along the road, Ian could see a vehicle coming. He sighed in relief, finally the sight of another individual.

However, turning the vehicle towards Ian's did the driver. As the driver's vehicle pushed Ian's up against the rail; seperating the field of grass from the road.

Ian's head hit off the steering wheel, as his vehicle broke through the railing, as the mini van slid down into the field of grass, along with the other driver's vehicle.

Bleeding from the forehead was Ian.

As Ian was about to step out of his vehicle, the opposing driver suddenly pulled an assault rifle from out of his backseat. The driver then stepped out of his vehicle, where he begun to open fire at Ian's.

Inside Ian's vehicle, Ian himself dropped down to the floor of the vehicle, where he covered his head from the scattering glass, coming from the vehicle's windows.

Continuing to fire at Ian's vehicle was the opposing driver, where he finally ran out of bullets. The driver threw out the emptied magazine, as he reached in his back pocket for another.

But, before the driver could pull out the magazine, police officer's vehicles came around; sirens wailing throughout the field, as the driver then turned his weapon towards the police vehicles. He went to pull the trigger, but forgot the gun was empty. Where he finally pulled out a fresh magazine from his back pocket; by now, the police officer's vehicles made it onto the field.

Finally pulling the magazine out and placing it into the weapon was the driver, who was too late. One of the officer's vehicles suddenly hit him, as he rolled up along the windshield; where he dropped the weapon to the ground.

Stopping almost immediately after the collision was the officer, as the others stopped their vehicles and turned off their sirens.

Ian, still hiding inside his vehicle, was breathing heavily with fear and adrenaline.

Am I to assume this is to be the Hype's workshop thread (ie you post short stories, others provide constructive criticism)?

If so, I may have a few I'd like to put in.

Sweet, I know I'll be reading them when I see them.

"A City Lost" by 'thejon93'

So the sky was grey. The clouds were bleak. The winds would wash away the dark of the streets, but it hardly ever came.

A little girl lied curled up amongst the ground, holding tightly in her arms the remains of her beloved stuffed animal.

A bear.

Crawling up to a convenient store window was an teenage-boy. Looking inside, nothing.

The aisles, empty. The floor, dusty. The windows, visually opaque.

Lost for energy and I loss of all his emotions, the teenager slid back down to the sidewalk. No arms with enough life to support him. No legs to carry him away.

The boy lied, lost, in a world of empty.

The girl lied beside her protector, with a spark of hope in her closed eyes.

This city... is gone.
