Malin Akerman as Laurie Jupiter/Silk Spectre II

And for the record, I didnt think they were that bad. Malin had some good moments, particularly the scene on mars. Ive heard some people say its too over the top and it was like a soap opera. Well, Laurie was the same way in the comics. Seriously, what do you think someone would do if they found out their biological father was a murdering crazy guy who tried to rape their mother? I thought she did that scene perfectly.

And I thought Carla was good aswell. She was a little too over the top as the old Sally, but that wasnt really her fault, I just thought it was how she was written. But her scenes from the flashbacks were great.

I think both Malin and Carla were very good as Silk Spectre I & II, respectively. I know that there have been criticisms of Malin not doing that good of a job as Laurie (which I think is unfounded), and others think Carla didn't played a good elderly Sally, but I think she was playing a bit differently than the comic Sally. I wasn't disappointed with either actress' performance in Watchmen.

I loved Carla in this viewing more. She acted like an old fashioned movie scarlett who still remembers the glory days of crimefighting.

Plus I loved when she slapped Dan's ass.

Well, Sally was drunk, in case no one noticed....She acts more naturally in her only other scene in the movie as Old Sally, at the end.

Agreed! I think she was really good.
She acted very old fashioned.

I don't know about amazing, but she was pretty good. There's the perception that her acting was "bad", when what it was was "pinup". She was doing a slightly less over the top version of the old time Hollywood Starlet on valium and vodka.

Laurie in the comics was laways a littl ''lost'' and she was like that it the movie as well.

Awesome. My firend thought Malin was an absolutely terrible actress I must convince him she is not!Whether he still hates the movie or not, he CANT think shes terrible!
