I've heard some say that Barbara Gordon should become Batgirl in an inevitable reboot, I've heard some say she should either start off as Oracle or have her character become Oracle eventually without donning the costume. I don't know why, but aside from her usefulness while being stuck in a wheelchair, I never saw the point in her being a paraplegic. So personally, I think that with the right introduction, Batgirl could work in a reboot.

I agree. I never liked her being in a wheelchair. But, we can thank Alan Moore for that terrific bit of misogyny. Fortunately, I am going to avoid a rant about Moore's treatment of women, and say that Batgirl would be a terrific addition to the film, and would be great for a solo film.

Jumping way ahead. We're talking about at least the first sequel to a reboot that is years away.

I could say the same thing about Robin in a reboot sequel, but people don't seem to be complaining about that so....

Alan Moore and Frank Miller really are just *******s when it comes to the characterization of women (and some men). Because apparently, to Frank Miller, a strong man is one who is "badass" which is why I utterly hate All-Star Batman. Year One is the only work from Miller I've read that I actually like. I haven't even tried Sin City because of how much of a dick he is.

If they do something like in the recent Batgirl comics, I would support it.

I personally feel the Oracle is a very valuable character in the Bat Family, and offers a real unique perspective on what it defines to be "useful" in the Batman universe.

However, yes. I agree. I want to see Barbara as Batgirl in the reboot series. If Robin wasn't done justice in the previous films, then Batgirl was downright ravaged as a character. Forget how badly you think Batgirl was treated in the comics. The real travesty is that the only movie she's appeared in was Batman and Robin, and is a far cry from the intelligent, resourceful badass that is Batgirl. >_<

I agree also.

Robin? Cool. Can't say I ever want to see batgirl on screen. It just starts to get hokey with that many side kicks. Might as well put Alfred in a cape and mask too.

Or just have him run around carrying a shotgun or two pistols:

Since they've retconned her permanent paralysis in the comics I say why not. Batgirl seems to be making a comeback.

I'd like to see Batgirl done right. Erase the memory of Alicia Silverstone.

I want Barbara shown as Batwoman in flashbacks But her character in the reboot would be as Oracle!

That would be intriguing as we'd also be getting an older Batman obviously.

Yeah I want a mid-aged Bruce/Batman who have been operating as Batman for many years!

Barbara needs to be in the next set of films. She doesnt need to be Batgirl in the first film, but as a character, at least be introduced early on
