Listen to the fans & let them share their ideas & all that stuff ? I ask this because this is EXACTLY what the Director of the upcoming Iron Man Movie is doing.

He said in an interview that - "I've got a MySpace group set up just to discuss the movie, so I welcome the input".

I really think that it is really cool that he is doing this & I wonder if this should happen more often when it comes to Comic Book Movies ? Will listening to the fans & letting them share their ideas help shape up Comic Book Movies a little better ?

I don't know if the fans neccesarily need a direct input...

Sometimes the fans don't know what makes a good movie. They just want the comic book to become animated on screen, whether it makes for a good movie or not.

However, I think there should be some kind of investment in what the fans want. I.E.; the huge uproar over Cyclops' fate should have been taken into consideration, which it wasn't. The huge demand to put Gambit into this film should have been taken into consideration, which it wasn't.

But the bottom line is, these are film makers, making movies for a studio to make a profit off of. The studio is shelling out the dough for these movies, and you can't just make a movie off what the fans would want... the studios can't just shell out millions of dollars for something that won't make money.

And if these film makers want to continue getting jobs, there does have to be some kind of give and take with the studios.

Overall, when it comes to adaptations (from any source material, not just comic books), there should be some kind of compromise between the studios, film makers, and fans.

It shouldn't be just all what the fans want, even if it means no profits (and loss of money) for the studios.

It shouldn't just all what the studios want, so they can make a quick buck.

And it shouldn't be just all some film makers interpretation of what he wants the source material to be, regardless of what the studios need, for profits, and what the fans want, for their enjoyment.

Well, i don't know if all fans share the same ideas.. you might get vastly varying suggestions, especially where X-Men are concerned because of all the multiple comic series that are out there...

But in other ways, a good idea. Maybe for X4....

I think that there should be a contest, like project Greenlight, except on a major channel. It should be about making a superhero movie, and it would have to be about a marvel hero, because fox pulls in bigger ratings than the WB.

I think that some fan ideas are feasible, but nothing along the lines of "OOOH!! OOOH!! You need 50 story Sentinels smashing up buildings and Wolverine saying 'Come here so I can throw out the trash Tin Can Man!!!' and Rogue flies around and Storm shoots lightning and Nightcrawler Bamfs all over the place and Magneto throws cars at people and......" I think you guys get the idea.

If the studios listened to the crap that internet fanboys say on the internet, we'd have some God-awful movies. It's cool that Favreau is being so involved in the internet community, but there are just soooo many horrible ideas out there that need to be ignored.

Agreed 100%

Not all fans know what makes a good movie. Some do. And there have been some really good ideas for how X-Men 3 could play out that I've seen on here.

But for the most part, it is just a bunch of "IT'S IN THE COMIC, SO IT SHOULD BE IN THE MOVIE!" even if it makes no sense what so ever.
