Should Marvel continue with the established franchise's storylines?

The X-Men (particularly) Wolverine's yellow spandex will not work on screen, that is my opinion and not arguement as you put it, incidentally, where have I argued about 'movie quality'?
You haven't and I was just saying it so that it wouldn't come up as other less then educated posters would compare the examples as bad movies.
The other examples are great, and I couldn't agree more.

Once more, WOLVERINE IN YELLOW SPANDEX WILL NOT WORK ON SCREEN, that is my point!
Who says it has to be spandex? Fantastic Four, Daredevil, and Spiderman didn't use spandex. And technically int the comics, the superhero costumes are not made of spandex. So the whole spandex thing flies out the window. As it's been proven before, there are other clothing materials that can be used for superhero comic movies, not spandex.

Yeah, I agree with this. There's little reason to backtrack and redo a story that's already been done on the screen in the near past. That's a commercial dead end and perhaps a creative one as well. I don't think much of the FF films, but the origin presented and the basic personalities are at least relatively close to the comic version. The problem with the film was related to execution rather than basic ideas. I'm sure people would rather see a FF movie that doesn't stink rather than a FF movie that backtracks on an already told story that doesn't stink.

Whatever missed opportunities there were are in the past. The key is to move forward.

Then how do yo explain Superman Returns?

What's to explain about Superman Returns? It's a flawed film that didn't do as much as WB had hoped for a variety of reasons. Heck, one of the complaints we heard was that it was too much like the Donner movies that we've already seen instead of actually moving forward.

Spider-Man: No.
X-Men: Yes (I say reboot X3, keep X1 & X2)
Fantastic Four: Yes, but only when Marvel gets the rights back

The colour scheme is a bit... Well... You know, a bit of an obstacle to get over (to put it politely), whether they used spandex, leather, polyester, rubber, wool :woot: I can't see this looking acceptable on the big screen.

Wolverines classic costume would be hard to translate to the movieverse without looking laughable. I prefer Logan when he's in civilian clothes.

You know how many costumes the X-Men have gone through throughout the years? You really think they'd only use one costume as inspiration for the movie costume? It is possible to take the best of all the costumes and put it into one, without it looking stupid or campy or fanmade.

Quit being a negative nellie queen.:cmad:
