...this was never delved into in the comics.. seems like the type of high school club that could be a social respite of sorts for a guy like Peter... ditto for Photography club, Math Club, Chess Club and other similar clubs based on his interests.. So, we're expected to believe that Pete had no 'nerd' friends or acquaintances at all back in high school? Was he "Sheldon" from the Big Bang Theory? :cwink:

Well he should be in the chess club, because that's what all nerds belong to.

that could work possibly, but I think his activities with friends should be kind of limited to just Harry Osborn. Pete was a nerd, and Harry was his only friend.

Well nerds often have poor social skills, so even being in chess club, science club, photography club etc, they're not there to meet other people but to concentrate on the task - eg play chess or do experiments. The nerds in those groups probably aren't even friends with each other because they don't even know how to interact. Harry is probably the only one with whom Peter has formed some kind of connection on a more personal level.

So long as he's not in a Glee club, it'll be fine.

He does not have to be the stereotypical nerd. :/

In fact in almost every recent incarnation of Spider-Man, Peter Parker is always shown as more of a 'cool' geek... if that makes any sense.

and no, no science club.

this is so silly.. many "anti-social geeks" have some form of congress with one another, especially pre-Internet... it's only the ultra-type-A misanthropes who don't seek any social life..

why be in a science club when hes in a science school! ;)

Could work. Peters interest in science was hardly touched on in the Raimi films, except for a scene here and there. Personally, I'd love to have a little more depth on the character.

As for the "cool nerd" idea, I think that's what they're going for this time. I've seen a few new on set photos of Garfield skate boarding, So obviously he's not the "stereotypical nerd".
